The relationship of the blood of Christ to sin.

The Ten Commandments were given to withdraw us from sin.
The blood of Christ also was given to withdraw us from sin even though we are aware of the Ten Commandments.
Atonement for sin is in the shedding of blood.
How fitting therefore that Christ’s blood was spilt onto the Ark of the Covenant, containing the Ten Commandments when the soldier speared his dead body with a lance.
God arranged to have the Ark placed in a cave directly below the crucifixion site.
When Christ died a great earthquake struck splitting the 20 feet of rock between the cross hole and the roof of the cave, directly above the Ark. The water that was released when the soldier pierced Christ’s spleen carried the blood down through this crack directly onto the Ark. Thus Christ became the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
Marvel at this great work of our creator sure, but marvel more at the failure of so many to appreciate and return thanks through leading a virtuous life and thus obtaining the salvation wrought by Christ on the cross.
