A taskforce was set up last year by the Church after Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby said he was ‘sorry and ashamed’ that ‘we are still institutionally racist’.
In a leaked report seen by The Spectator magazine, the taskforce recommends the institution introduces a 30 per cent quota for BAME candidates on its leadership programme and calls on the Church to ‘deal with’ controversial statues and monuments.
The ‘Lament to Action’ report also calls for an overhaul of education within CofE schools as well as plans to ‘deal with’ controversial statues and monuments.
The reforms will be funded and overseen by the creation of a ‘Racial Justice Unite’ for a five-year fixed-term basis.
The report is due before the Archbishops’ Council next week, with a final version published on April 22.

The Church of England is set to introduce a 30 per cent quota for ethnic minority candidates on its leadership programme and carry out anti-racism training, it emerged last night.
Officials are also planning to provide information giving context to church statues which may have caused ‘pain or offence’ as part of plans to tackle discrimination.

The church is corrupt and simply playing politics. Quotas are racist and promote incompetence. Besides, race is not even a real thing. There is only one race…the human race. The concept of race was a man-made construct created by sociologists and anthropologists in order to study humans based on culture, language, and family traits. Genetically, we are all the same. Physical characteristics only differ because they developed for survival reasons based on various climate conditions and geographical environments. For example, melanin (color found in skin, hair and eyes) developed to protect against the sun and UV rays. Also, eyefolds developed to protect against snowblindness. Other physical differences became concentrated among certain groups by interbreeding, and cultures and languages also developed under conditions of relative isolation. Up until the last couple of hundred years, people did not travel very much. Now, people travel everywhere, they learn, adapt and adopt new cultures and languages and many intermix with people from other places and ethnicities. There really is no such thing as race and the word is essentially irrelevant. Any use of such a designation in this day and age is simply for manipulation and control. Some people may believe that “race” helps define who they are, but I doesn’t. What defines a person is that individual’s character and how they interact with their community. What a person looks like or who his family was are all completely irrelevant.
Just don’t take the cursed thing!
