This will save you a fortune in psychiatrist fees and remove much misery and oppression you may have in your life.

By becoming self aware and looking, not just recognising but actually looking for our faults in those specific actions which result in negative consequences we may see at least an element of our own fault in the event even if not the entirety of fault falling to us. We may see that we may have contributed in some way.
Rather than thinking ‘oh well ‘ and then forgetting about it, if we actually repent, be genuinely “sorry” for our own failings which may have contributed to the event at least in part we are, and it feels as such,instantly  miraculously healed of the effect and are restored to mental and emotional health.
The healing comes not from forgetting about it but being sorry for our guilt and it really is an instant miraculous process which happens. That is through Gods grace whether or not we realise it, which Christ as Saviour has merited for all.
The effects of salvation apply to all  not just people who may rightly or wrongly call themselves Christians. That’s the Good News of salvation.

The more you repent of specific acts or non-acts, whatever the case may be, the more and most wonderful emotional and mental healing you will feel, experience at both levels.

Guilt only enters into it before we are sorry and if we fail or refuse to repent.

But guilt is only one aspect of the damage done.

All the self help guides in the world and or psychiatrists and counsellors will  never mention repentance as it is organic, believes in a higher power and therefore not allowed in their pharmoclinical approach which harks back to if not relying on Darwin and his twin brother Freud.
