Midweek #ROW80 Progress Report
I feel like I’ve been a terrible blogger lately. I’m caught in a stretch at work where I’m out of my office a lot, traveling a fair bit, and just generally being too busy to remember what day it is, let alone think of topics to blog about and get them executed. Which has also impacted my activity on social media, my overall wordcounts and the cleanliness of my house (it’s taken me 3 days to get the laundry put away…where the heck did my weekend go?). That makes for not particularly interesting #ROW80 progress reports.
I’ve been fighting off some kind of sinus crud since Monday. Judicious application of thieves oil seems to have nipped it in the bud (and had the added side effect of ensuring that I walk around smelling essentially like spice tea) and I’m feeling clearer headed than I have in days. The fact that I’ve gotten to bed on time the last two nights and skipped my workout in order to get more sleep probably helped, too.
Our dishwasher went out last night. In response to this news, one of my friends was like, “Oh, well, at least it’s non-essential.” To which I replied, “Woman, do you have any idea how much I cook?” It may just be the control panel. It’s on my list for later to pull the model number and spend some time sleuthing at RepairClinic.com. Not like we’re particularly attached to this dishwasher. It’s loud and doesn’t even hold my new dishes I got for Christmas the year before we moved into this house (they now live in the attic). But if it’s between spending a little to fix this one vs. a lot to replace it… :eyeroll: It’s always something. When our dishwasher went out at our last house (because God forbid anything be designed to LAST, right?), we were without one for NINE MONTHS because it took us THAT LONG to locate one shallow enough for the space because the main water line to that house came in at an angle RIGHT BEHIND it. That, at least, shouldn’t be a problem here. If it does come down to replacing it, I’m totally taking one of my new dinner plates shopping to make sure it freaking FITS.
Things are still going on the writing front, if not at the pace I’d like. Because of having felt cruddy, I haven’t gotten as much written as I’d like (this is totally the story of my life–I never get as much written as I’d like), but I think I’m still on target to finish the first draft by end of May. I have done a fair bit of plotting the last few days, sketching out the details of my anthology novella and more on the book that comes after Liam and Riley. I’m really eager to get to that one. I haven’t had a character be this loud since Elodie in Red.
Currently finishing up reading The One Thing by Gary Keller and Sweet On You by Kate Perry. I think I’ve only got 2 of her Laurel Heights series left. But thankfully, she’s prolific and I can move on to The Summerhills!
