Political Campaigns Urgent Matters

There is a somber realization in the US today. We are immersed in a quagmire of divisiveness where both political parties have failed in their obligation to the American public. Today the democrat and republican parties are openly contentious to any meaningful policies and reforms that actually would greatly enhance the quality of life for millions. 

The fundamental necessities for all human existence have been generally ignored by the existing power structure of our own government. We all know that fresh clean water is essential for our existence. What happened in Flint Michigan should never have occurred. What is happening all over the country today concerning the most valuable resource we have millions now face dire freshwater shortages.

This situation could have been averted had we put in place water transport systems with existing water treatment facilities to assure enough fresh water would be available to every city and town all across the country. Nature already provides enough rainfall and snow runoffs to support all life on the planet. The biggest problem is that we have yet to harness all that nature provides to the point that man can safety provide enough fresh water to areas that are facing dire freshwater shortages. Our aquafers have been depleted to a very critical point.

When there are freshwater shortages as we are witness to today, they in turn increase the reduction of all nutritious food sources as well. Compounding this dire crisis, there seems to be no inclination by elected officials to do what is necessary to ensure the American public having enough clean freshwater at their disposal. We have to point out that major corporations’ pocket over trillions of dollars every year in profits curtesy of our governmental provisions of all the tax loopholes. It is these loopholes that continue to rob the American public of the funds that are needed to provide the public services that ensue a standard of living for all befitting the 21st century. 

There is no reason why an American citizen be subjected to third world conditions here in the United States. Yet millions are suffering the consequences of governmental aversion to the problems and conditions millions face each day. This aversion or should we say the lack of concern for millions of Americans who are trapped in substandard living conditions are pulling the United States right down into that third world status. The window of rectifying American’s decline is fast closing.

When a society slips or in the case of the United States falls into a realm of reality far beneath the level of opportunity America had in the 1950′s thru the 1960′s we have done so by the power structure being oblivious to the actual needs of their populations. It is the existing power structure composed of bought and paid for elected officials that are universally connected to the major corporations. It is these major corporations in turn use the tax loopholes in ignoring the plight of so many American citizens.

It would be so refreshing to just once have a potential political candidate compose a campaign add focusing on the realities facing the majority of Americans today. An add that would generate authentic enthusiasm toward the remedies that would elevate the American citizen to a higher standard of living. Yet all we see are attack adds. 

Campaign ads have to focus on the realization that there are ways to bridge the gaps in our society and heal the wounds of years of political indifference toward millions of Americans. They should point out that having Universal Health Care will put more money back in your wallet. A campaign ad having addressed the importance of having an intercontinental freshwater transport system in place would ensure drought conditions would be negligible. and int the end would greatly reduce the inflationary trends in our food supply. A campaign ad that addressing closing the tax loophole for major corporations would go a long way to provide additional funding for so many public work projects that are society needs to function. 

Education is essential if our society wants to avoid catastrophe. In combating climate change there has to be a balance in our energy policies. The machines that support our whole economy still have to rely on fossil fuel mainly diesel. But by integrating solar and wind farms can offset the imbalance of fossil fuel consumption. Automobiles, trains, farm equipment, planes, ships all still need to continue the consumption of diesel and gasoline. By putting precipitators caps on all industrial chimneys including incinerators will not only cut co2 emissions but enable the recycling of much needed resources.

An educated public is the best way for society to reframe for falling into tyranny. And when we have political adversaries pitting one against the other and not focusing on the ways to ease the many crises, we face that society will continue to suffer the imbalances that continue to foster the many crises we are now facing.
