Emsi2019 CEO Keynote: What Emsi Is Doing to Help You Lead & Engage

Last month, Emsi CEO Andrew Crapuchettes presented this keynote, “What Emsi Is Doing to Help You Lead and Engage,” at Emsi2019, our ninth annual users’ conference. The keynote was one of the highlights of the three-day conference. Now you can see it for yourself!

Crapuchettes introduced Emsi’s groundbreaking product updates of 2019. He demonstrated how these new and improved services will help professionals in higher education, business, and economic development:

Emsi Skills

Crapuchettes’s most exciting announcement was the introduction of Emsi Skills: a new, open-access skills library featuring nearly 30,000 skills from hundreds of millions of job postings, resumes, and professional profiles. The free library is open to the public, providing an up-to-date collection of the real-world skills that people have and that employers value.

“We built Emsi Skills to create a common language between people, education, and employers—groups that have historically struggled to communicate,” said Crapuchettes in a press release. “Employers want to know what skills to require in their job postings. Educators want to know what skills to teach in their programs. And jobseekers want to know what skills to learn so they can succeed in the workforce.”

Higher ed updates

1. Saved Projects in Analyst – Now you can save your work! (Also available in Developer and Talent Analyst.)
2. GoRecruit – Get the employment outcomes data you need to demonstrate alumni success, engage prospective students, and drive enrollment.
3. Skills Match – Connect learners and workers to relevant, attainable careers and educational offerings at the granularity of skills. Skills Match is available now in beta; full product expected in early 2020.
4. Skillabi – This upcoming product (prototype expected end of 2019) helps institutions define, view, and collaborate on the skills associated with their curricular content.

Workforce & economic development updates

1. Business Engage – Emsi’s new product for proactive business engagement. Identify expanding or at-risk businesses, track the health of businesses over time, uncover business pain points, and more.
2. Historical wage data – Compare occupation wage data as far back as 2005.
3. Regional skills clusters – See how groups of related skills coalesce and cut across industries and career areas.
4. Community indicator data – Find out exactly where your community ranks in terms of indicators like median household income, housing vacancy rates, and mean commute time across your MSA, state, or nation.

Business updates

1. New staffing package in Talent Analyst – We added a new staffing report to help staffing firms find opportunities in markets they are in, and explore untapped markets for potential.
2. Emsi Global – At the 2018 Emsi conference, we showed you Emsi Global as a mere concept. Today, we’ve got a platform looking at talent supply for close to 1,500 markets across 35 countries!
