New Mexico School of Mines? Really? Yes, Really Really Dumb. ROCKWATCH!!!

Here in Socorro, New Mexico, we have the School of Mines and Technology.  I drive by it every day.  And the beautiful Campus is DEAD.  There are a lot of Aerospace and Defense Contractor Buildings, and Engineering and Technology is a Focal Point of the Degrees that they offer.  But at the same time, Socorro New Mexico boasts a bunch of Gigantic Radio Telescope Satellite Dishes out in the Desert.  They have been obsolete for 20 years, so it makes me wonder how many Aerospace Engineering Geniuses are being turned out at NMT.  We don’t even Recycle aluminum cans, plastic, or ANYTHING in this College Town.  It’s Crazy, so here is an Email I sent to all Department heads at NMT.–  Please forward to your University President.  My name is Macon Carrington, and I’m a retired Consultant from the East Coast who just relocated to Socorro.  I’m sure that you all know that EVERY Mining Stock on any Exchange loses $Money, and that China owns 96% of all Rare Earth Minerals.  So I do not understand why you haven’t shifted your focus from Geology and Mining, and Changed your Name.  Here are some ideas.  I would change the name to the New Mexico School of the Arts and Engineering.  You already have a Beautiful Preforming Arts Center, and the Curriculum change would attract more female candidates than a focus on attracting a bunch of dudes studying played out mines and a Dead Industry.  I would also change the name of your main road, Leroy, to Boulevarde de Artes, or Renaissance Boulevard.  And I would get rid of that Mason’s Lodge right across from the University entrance.  That Compass and Square facing the University represents a Trap, and is NOT good for Business.  I would also change the name of School of Mines Road to Engineering Place.  You may not think that signs are all that important, but signs represent Ideas; and these messaging signals are of the utmost Importance.  Then I would convince the City of Socorro to Recycle.  What College town doesn’t Recycle?  This is another bad sign that you are resistant to Change and New Ideas.  The New Mexico School of the Arts and Engineering would radically change the Face of Socorro.  Business would BOOM, and Prosperity would return to a Dying Town trapped in the Dark Ages.  These Ideas are free.  But again, I am a retired consultant, investment banker, and a highly aggressive salesman.  If you would like more ideas, please contact me by email, or at 910-986-3971.  Thank You, Theodore Macon Carrington, Jr.
