In 1934, the Germans elected Nazis. Now the American people have spoken…

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

In June 1934, in a free election after Hitler gained power, the Nazi Party swept national elections. Did the German people really speak or did unthinking German people parrot what the loudest most obnoxious candidates had to say?

In the U.S. in 2010, hundreds of millions were spent to win elections and not one candidate of either party mentioned how they would address the nation-busting obesity and diabetes epidemics – expensive medical conditions already affecting one out of every three or four Americans.

The first ever non-infectious epidemic, diabetes is widespread across the country and not one political candidate said one word about what to do about it. Not one TV ad pledged any concern or solution for the millions of children, baby boomers and seniors who will be diagnosed with diabetes during the next decade.

While repealing the new health care law became big election news, not one candidate said one word about the nation’s future nutrition policies as proposed in the 2010 Dietary Guidelines, released to an unknowing public on June 15, 2010. Doesn’t what we eat and feed our children matter at all?

Obesity and diabetes became public health concerns after 1980 when the federal government – for the first time – published low fat, high carb dietary guidelines. No political candidate has challenged or questioned the “low fat business as usual” dietary guidelines to be released by USDA in December 2010.

Neither political party in America expressed any concern whatsoever about the record number of children being diagnosed with autism, ADHD, asthma, auto-immune diseases or cancer. Childhood bullies make the news; childhood health solutions do not.

In California, a U.S. Senate candidate spent $140 million of her own money to win a job that pays only a tiny fraction of that over six years. What does that tell you? Why didn’t she just use the money to purchase job training or health care for people in California?

In Minnesota, Rep. Michele Bachmann, a Tea Party favorite, won a third term after raising more than $11 million and spending at least $8.8 million attacking her Democratic opponent Teryl Clark. Tens of millions were spent on mutual attack ads. Childhood diseases were never mentioned. All of this to what end?

The new political mantra:  “The American people have spoken.” If that’s true, we’re in big trouble.

The American people responded to attack ads electing people who expressed no concern about America’s nutrition policies and what to do about our escalating chronic disease. Nazi Germany did not survive 12 years. Will a country that doesn’t care about its children survive any longer?

I agree – where are we headed? We have the sickest children of any Western nation and we just had national elections that did not address autism, obesity or diabetes. Obviously our political candidates don’t have a clue. Like Rome, we will fall from within!

What business is it of the government the food I eat or the health care I have. This used to be America where we were free to make decisions for ourselves. I don’t want some dumba**s democrat bureaucrat trying to tell me what I should eat or what health insurance I should have.
      Thanks, but no thanks

Whether you like it or not, the federal government that represents you is telling us for thirty years now to eat a low fat diet. That’s why so many have diabetes – they complied. That is the issue; the government that represents you is teaching low fat in schools. From school to everyday reality, low fat business as usual rules. That is the issue.

    • An Objectivist Individualist

In November 1933, Germans gave the National Socialist German Workers Party 92.2% of the vote. There were no national elections in 1934.

It is mighty odd that you have compared the Tea Party movement and the Republican Party victory in the November 2010 election to the National Socialist German Workers Party victory of 1933. The Tea Party advocates a reduction in the size of government and a government committed to protecting the equal, sovereign rights of the individual to life, liberty, property, the ownership of one’s own mind and body, and the pursuit of happiness. The present socialist government drives the Tea Party people to the ramparts to defend the U.S. Constitution. The National Socialist Party favored big government and was thoroughly socialist with a state-run medical system in mind and a tight state control of the private sector with no regard to individual rights. Their program, aside from hatred of the Jews, Gypsies, and Slavs and expansion to the east, were much more similar to those of the Democrat Party than to those of the Tea Party people. No major party in America is advocating expansion in the east or the harm of Jews or Slavs or Gypsies.

I think the real comparison between the nazi’s and the Tea Party movement…is the dishonesty and demogoguery they used.

Remember all of those low-brow, scurilous claims?…’health insurance death panels’ (now that it has passed, they aren’t there!), Obama is a Moslem (even though he has attended a Christian church for 20 years!), Obama is not a US citizen even though independant fact-checking organizations say he is…and we have all seen photocopies of his birth certificate, on the interent!), etc, etc, etc.

The Tea Party movement borrowed a playbook, from Adolph Hitler, by raising hysteria, instead of rational discussion of the issues. (remember how Hitler railed against immigrants?)…and hysteria about the national debt (yes…it is serious…but no economist…conservative or liberal…agrees with the Tea Party hysteria about econmics)….global warming is ‘phony science’ (even though these critics never site a single scientic argument against man-made global warming…because there are none. There is virtually unanimous agreement among sicentists, from every country in the world..that man-made global warming is real!)

This hysteria is laying the groundwork for Bush-crony Josh Bolton to make come-back…and lead the world down the same path of destruction that GW Bush set in motion. Remember, Bush was a member of the ‘Skull and Bones’ secret society, and his grandfather was the one who bank-rolled Hitler. (Did your grandparents have any influence on you?)

      > not one candidate of either party mentioned how they would address the nation-busting obesity and diabetes epidemics

Democrat Doug Reynolds: “Just having healthy options doesn’t work because you’ve got a salad line at Huntington High School and the students just skip over it. We even need to look at vending machines and placing some limitations there. There are budgetary concerns to consider, of course, but there needs to be more investment in getting healthy foods into the schools.”

Is this guy NUTS? Not one of the candidates said how they were going to solve the problems of obesity and diabetes? WTF?

He won’t have to worry much longer because the president has seen to that — he has given the FED the go-ahead to ruin our currency by devaluing the dollar. Once hyperinflation starts after the final infusion of part of the $600 billion that will be dumped on the economy in 9 months — it will take these fat people a wheel barrow of money just to buy a loaf of bread, no butter, no fatty meat, just bread — that should help the reduce their bulk. Diabetic? Don’t worry, skinny people are rarely diabetic unless they get that way when they are kids — so by losing all that extra tonnage they won’t have diabetes.

What a wonderful solution to a difficult problem — NOW SOMEONE GET THE NET AND CATCH THAT GUY — HE HAS A FEW BATS IN HIS BELFRY !!!!!

Response from Cereal Killer: We have heard over and over that in the 2010 elections, the American people have spoken. Sure they have – and like the Germans in the 1930s – the American people will pay a steep price for accepting this low level of political debate and for having been brainwashed. We watch millions of dollars of negative TV ads – ridiculous nonsense – and then go vote as though we are doing our patriotic duty. We feed our children sugary cereal for breakfast and then wonder why they are fat and diabetic. Berliners were silent as all the Jews disappeared from Berlin. We are silent as children on low fat diets suffer in epidemic numbers with autism, ADHD, Asthma, cancer, obesity, diabetes and now even heart disease. A country that doesn’t care about its children – a country that will feed children something they wouldn’t feed a dog – will not last another 12 years… Even the French know what to eat for breakfast. We don’t. We’re too dumb. We’ve been dumbed down by 30 years of official low fat diets. Google videos “2010 Dietary Guidelines” and you will learn about five (5) more years of low fat business as usual; five more years of record setting chronic disease. At Stalingrad, Leningrad, and in the suburbs of Moscow, the Russians stopped the Germans. Nothing will save us from chronic disease overload. Go ahead and eat you Cheerios with skim milk for breakfast. Have a bagel and wash it down with orange juice. Raise your blood sugar and inflame your arteries. Then sit back in your easy chair fall asleep and watch the captivating news about the forthcoming 2012 elections. Again, there will be no solutions, no thinking – just massive brainwashing in action.
