SENATOR MARCO RUBIO CONGRATULATES NEW RPOF LEADERSHIP AND NEW RNC CO-CHAIR SHARON DAY

Miami, FL – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio today issued the following statement after David Bitner’s election as Republican Party of Florida chairman, as well as yesterday’s election of Sharon Day as Republican National Committee Co-Chair:

“I congratulate David Bitner on his election as chairman of the Republican Party of Florida. David and I served together in the Florida Legislature, and I know he will do a phenomenal job in building our party by advancing the principles of limited government and free enterprise that we represent.

“I also want to commend all the candidates who ran for chairman. They were critical in making 2010 a banner year for Florida Republicans and will continue to play important roles in the future success of the RPOF.

“I also congratulate Sharon Day on her well-earned victory as RNC co-chair. Sharon is a trusted friend and a capable leader who will continue to do great things to build our party and make her fellow Floridians proud. Together with Chairman Reince Priebus, I wish them the best as they work to strengthen our party.”
