No More Messages Taken On A & E Phones. "Click" & Sheriff Miller Tells A & E Buh Bye

I just tried to call A & E’s NY offices to see how things were going.  I had called them the other night, but could only do so well after hours, like about 10:30 pm.  On that call, there was a bot telling me a series of choices to direct my call, everything from specific productions to advertisers.  I was able to click through to what was described as a “receptionist”, but just turned out to be a voice mailbox. 

I left the box a message asking that it be passed on to general management. I just wanted them to know my household was here relaxing, NOT watching the Duck Dynasty marathon. I added that we would also NOT be watching anything else on A & E, for the duration.  Then, I wished them a “ducky” evening.

Apparently A & E and GLAAD are reporting hoooligans and death threats, etc. for their suspension of Phil Robertson.  That type of behavior is ridiculous, and I wouldn’t be surprised if many of those contacts were staged. The type of people who support the Robertsons would find that sort of behavior reprehensible.  You see, they are smart enough, and mature enough to understand that disagreement does NOT equal “hate”.  Duh.

I tried to call A & E again this morning.  I wanted to let them know that we STILL weren’t watching, and that my position is not one of “hate”,  just disagreement.  Surprisingly, the call was answered by a recorded male voice stating office hours and then hanging up.  Without so much as a goodbye.  “Click!” My, my, my. A & E doesn’t even have the guts to still take messages. Yup, they peed in the chili, and now they’re having to eat it.  Yum, yum, yum.

As a side note,  my earlier suspicions regarding Facebook censoring support for Phil Robertson seems to be shared by Mike Huckabee.

Annnd,  Sheriff Miller of Douglas County has now said…

“A&E has suspended Phil Robertson for talking about his conservative Christian beliefs,” Miller wrote.” None of us are without sin and I am not judging anyone. I am sure A&E made what they believe is a good business decision. Many people who disagree with A&E might choose to remain silent and there was a time when I might have done the same, but no longer. In my mind the punishment is unreasonable.

“I know it will not matter to A&E, but it will make me feel better. A&E has produced more than a half dozen programs with the assistance of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. They will not do any more with my assistance while I am sheriff. It is time for someone other than Hollywood and the news media to stand up for what is right!”

So there you go, A & E.  Just because you’re showing Duck Dynasty, doesn’t mean we’re watching.  Word is out on Duck Dynasty brand stuff too. Duck Commander brand is the one that will be supported.
