Megan Thee Stallion Says Tory Lanez Tried to Buy Her Silence

GQ Magazine named Megan Thee Stallion Rapper of the Year. In the interview about the honor, she disclosed details about the July incident that involved Tory Lenez where she was shot. The star alleged Lanez tried to buy her and her friend’s silence.”

The shooting happened after a Hollywood Hills party she and a friend attended with Lanez. After leaving, Lanez and Megan fought, which resulted in Megan wanting to walk home. In a social media post following the headline news, Megan alleged Lanez shot her, an accusation that Lanez denied.

Terrified in the shooting’s aftermath, the star didn’t know what to do. She said, “[At that moment] I’m really scared, this is like right in the middle of all the (Black Lives Matter) protesting, Police are just killing everybody for no reason, and I’m thinking, ‘I can’t believe you even think I want to take some money. Like, you just shot me.’”

Megan admitted she struggled for strength, finding it hard to “be tough” when she was the victim. 

“It was like, who really checks on us or who protects us? You just go your whole life with that mentality,” the 25-year-old stated. “And then when something actually happens to you, when you properly should have protected yourself, your first instinct was not to protect yourself, it was protecting other people. So it was like, ‘What do I do?’ ‘What do I say?’ Like, ‘Is anybody going to believe what I’m saying?’”

As a result of the attack, she had to have surgery on her foot. Lanez’s lawyer denied Megan’s claim to GQ Magazine.
