John C. Beale, the United States lead expert on climate change, has admitted this week to elaborate lies and fraud, according to major newspapers, including the Guardian.
“Beale had told his supervisors he was a spy for the CIA, working in Pakistan and at CIA Headquarters in Langley, Virginia,” according to the Guardian. “He was in fact just taking extended, government-funded vacations.”
Surrounded by the naive and the not so naive, for ten years, Beale got away with his scam.
He chose luxury hotels that charge over twice the government’s set per diem. Beale’s expense vouchers were approved by an EPA official, a friend of his whose activities are now being reviewed by the Inspector General’s Office (IGO), according to congressional investigators.
“Beale enjoyed first-class trips to London, staying in five-star hotels while billing the government for everything, including limousine rides,” the Guardian says.
Consequences for the fraud and living the life of the rich and famous while neglecting his EPA work? He could face as few as 30 months in a minimum security prison.
“It has been said that Beale’s fraud could only occur at the EPA… In truth, it appears that greed, self aggrandizement and waste can occur in any government agency, no matter how noble its name or mission statement.”
Often, the scam is corporate government-supported, including non-government front groups.
Just look at the big and many not so big ”noble” players leading the Gulf of Mexico oil “spill” investigation and “advocating” for people there. (See

One can justifiably ask the same question the Guardian and others are asking today about the scamming climate change leader: If Beale could scam and fabricate intricate stories with specific dates, times and destinations in one part of his life, what should lead anyone to believe he would not do so about other matters.
“The data on climate change?” asks Chris Carrington of the Daily Sheeple. “Anthropogenic global warming?”
“Everything this man did has to be checked, and the administrator at the EPA, Gina McCarthy, needs to be shown the door,” Carrington asserts. “How can this woman have run a department with a crucial member of staff off for over a year at a time?”
So much NSA’s spying actually being to root out the bad guys and protect the people and planet.
