Whatever you do, don’t mention the fact that when David Cameron was the first world leader to visit Egypt after the historic overthrow of President Mubarak in 2011, he took 8 defence firms along with him.
At the time, Cameron said he was visiting Egypt to create the ‘building blocks of democracy’.
Something he clearly seemed to think was best done by peddling arms to the country’s unelected military leaders.
That went well, didn’t it?

The defence contractors which accompanied Cameron to Egypt were BAe Systems, Qinetiq, Thales, Cobham Group, Ultra Electronics, Rolls Royce, Babcock International Group and Atkins.
