1. Hundreds of Vaccinated Indonesian Health Workers Get COVID-19, Dozens in Hospital

JAKARTA—More than 350 doctors and medical workers have caught COVID-19 in Indonesia despite being vaccinated with Sinovac, and dozens have been hospitalized, officials said, as concerns grow about the efficacy of some vaccines against more infectious variants.

Most of the workers were asymptomatic and self-isolating at home, said Badai Ismoyo, head of the health office in the district of Kudus in central Java, but dozens were in the hospital with high fevers and declining oxygen saturation levels.

Kudus, which has about 5,000 health care workers, is battling an outbreak believed to be driven by the more transmissible Delta variant, which has pushed its bed occupancy rates above 90 percent.

Designated as a priority group, health care workers were among the first to be vaccinated when inoculations began in January.

Almost all have received the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Chinese biopharmaceutical company Sinovac, the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) says.

(Most people who get Covid, meaning test positive with a PCR test, are “asymptomatic” which means not sick. In other words, it looks like being vaccinated is about the same as not being vaccinated when it comes to getting Covid)

3. Bills’ Cole Beasley says he’d rather retire than get vaccinated, slams NFL’s COVID protocols

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley took a strong stance against the NFL and the NFLPA over the league’s updated COVID-19 protocols, saying he would rather retire than get vaccinated. 

“I don’t play for the money anymore. My family has been taken care of. Fine me if you want. My way of living and my values are more important to me than a dollar,” Beasley said in a lengthy statement posted to Twitter Friday. “I will be outside doing what I do. I’ll be out in public. If your [sic] scared of me then steer clear, or get vaccinated … I may die of covid, but I’d rather die actually living.”

Beasley is taking issue with the NFL’s new guidelines for training camp and preseason which heavily restricts unvaccinated players while allowing those who have received the vaccine to return close to normalcy. 

4. More proof that this was never about a disease. The Liberal government gave 3200 exemptions for covid-quarantine while making sure the peasants paid through the nose for crap food and dirty hotel rooms.

5. Texas residents say the temperatures on their smart thermostats were RAISED overnight without their permission after state’s power operators warned of shortages amid a heat wave

Texas residents say the temperature on their ‘smart’ web-connected thermostats was changed without their permission after the state’s electricity operators had warned of another round of power shortages amid a heat wave.

The thermostats were raised to 78 degrees without their knowledge – sometimes even as families slept in the middle of the night. Raising the temperature on the thermostat would cause an air conditioner to run less – therefore using less power.

The Big Brother temperature manipulation comes after the Texas energy grid failed this past winter when rolling blackouts left millions without power and 700 dead during February’s devastating winter storms. 

Houston resident Brandon English said he didn’t realize his thermostat had been tampered with until after his wife and infant daughter ‘woke up sweating’ from an afternoon nap.    

‘Was my daughter at the point of overheating?’ English said. ‘She’s 3 months old. They dehydrate very quickly,’ he told KHOU.

It’s not clear how many thermostats were changed.
