Londoners defend shoplifter for ‘walking out of Tesco without paying’ after stuffing trolley with food

Londoners have rushed to defend an alleged shoplifter who filled her trolley with food in Tesco then walked out of the store without paying. A Redbridge resident who witnessed the incident took to Facebook to warn other shops to beware, but instead was met with support for the woman.

However, locals came to the unknown woman’s defence, saying that times are tough and suggested that she may be struggling financially. One said: “You’re joking aren’t you? You have no idea what that lady might be going through.” A second added: “Tesco is a multi million pound company I’m sure they will manage.”

A third agreed: “Why do you care more about big corporations than people struggling during the cost of living crisis.”
