Friday Penny Stock Watchlist: Taking It to the Next Level
Here at the Penny Sleuth, we’re interested in continually improving our offerings to you. We did that back in October with the introduction of our weekly penny stock watchlist, a technical-driven list of small-cap trading opportunities.
In the months since, our watchlist has produced some impressive plays – from 45% on a pharmaceutical play in less than an hour to 100% gains or more in a single week.
Along the way, we’ve gotten plenty of comments from Sleuth readers letting us know what changes they want to see in the way the watchlist is presented. Today, I want to take that one step further by asking you to fill out a short survey on improvements you’d like to see in the watchlist.

Without further ado, here’s this week’s look at technical trading set-ups forming in the penny stock market.
In case you’re not familiar, each week, the Penny Sleuth takes a look at a list of penny stocks that are exhibiting abnormal volume, strong technicals, upcoming news, or another catalyst that suggested they might be making a material move in the coming week.
As usual, while our Watchlist errs on the safe side of small-caps, using technical analysis to tell us where a stock is headed, we’ve opened the comments up to readers again this week, giving you the chance to offer up more speculative penny stock plays.

First, though, let’s take a look at this week’s breakout penny stocks worth watching…
LMI Aerospace (NASDAQ: LMIA) – This small-cap aerospace company is a repeat offender for the watchlist. I wrote about the stock back in March when it was trading at $13.69, when it was making its first ascending triangle pattern. Since then, the stock has rallied more than 26%, and I think it’s setting up for another bullish push. Wait for a break through resistance before going long again.
Yongye International (NASDAQ: YONG) – Bearish sentiment continues to rule the trade setups this week, and the price action in Yongye Int’l, a biotech stock, are no different. I’m bearish on this trade if it can break below $7 this week.
Dow 30 Dividend Income Fund (NYSE: DPD) – If the thought of trading a closed-end mutual fund surprises you, it shouldn’t. These instruments trade just like any other equity. This one in particular stands to bounce down to support soon – if it does, a break below $12.50 could make serious short-side money.
Nanometrics Inc. (NASDAQ: NANO) – This semiconductor play is testing shoulder level on a potential head & shoulders pattern. Don’t be fooled by the apparent momentum this week – if it breaks through, the floor is gone and it’s time to bet on lower levels.
