I read your article with great interest and I suspect you already know my opinion of it.
For me, it’s never been about Nadler having a difference of opinion. I’ve a high degree of respect for some gold bears, most notably Robert Prechter Jr. The difference is Bob has never been a pompous jerk who has not only been horribly wrong time after time, but refuses to address all his failed forecasts and calls people names (and a lot worse) if they dare call themselves bullish on gold (or believers in manipulation and tin-foil hat wearers). When gold is moving up, he masks his deep dislike for it by claiming one should hold a core position and/or give some potential higher price it could conceivably go to; only to then fill every daily rant of his with people who are calling for it to decline.
We all are wrong only the difference between most and Nadler is he has the ultimate gall he prances around in as if all his terrible forecasts were not really wrong and somehow gold got to where it is for some unexplainable reason(s) that don’t justify it and therefore that frees him from missing its entire move up.
If gold does decline sharply from here, I think it would only be fair to call him the “broken clock” forecaster and his one minute a day in the sun will have arrived.
P.S. You would think he would jump at picking up a cool $2 million if gold is indeed worth less than a $1,000 but trust me, he neither has the capital or the true internal stamina to put his money where his mouth is. Learn to live with it my friend and just take comfort knowing you’re on the opposite side of the most notoriously wrong gold forecaster in the last decade.
