This Post Has No Title

Today my friend Mike Spehn wrote a really nice piece.  It was a really full travel day for me today.  Flew out to Coronado for Howard Lindzon’s Stocktoberfest.  I am looking forward to it, but I left a piece of me back in Chicago.  Read Mike’s thoughts and you will know why.

It starts,

I am a fortunate man. Blessed some would say. Among my greater blessings are a group of men I’ve known since grammar school who refer to one another primarily by nicknames: Rocks, Crommie, Beak, Kuhl… Or by last names only: Spehn, Carter, etc. We gather from time to time. Some of us go years without connecting. But put us in the same room again, at the same card table or on the same tee box, and it’s as if we enter a time machine, transported back to “those days”. I know these men well. I have a deep and abiding affection for very one of them.

Today, it’s rare to have friends like I have. I am very lucky to have them. I wish the same for you. If you read one thing on the internet today, read Mike’s post.  I hate to call it a post, because it’s more than that.

We will laugh about Mike (Rocks) and his skill at hurling clubs. But, he is/was much more than that.
