Flying in a P51

Today I am getting the opportunity to go up in a P51 Mustang.  My friend Dan Fordice flew his plane in from Vicksburg, MS.   He is a big supporter of the National World War Two Museum and over the years we have seen each other at the Victory Ball.

The Whitney Bank Victory Ball is a good reason to make a trip to New Orleans.

Dan runs a great operation that helps veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan war.  It’s called the Warrior Bonfire Program.  I will make a donation and I hope you can too.  Here is a video about what Dan does, and he does it with low/no overhead.

I love what Dan is doing. I agree with him. We all can help our veterans in our own way. We shouldn’t rely on the VA to do it. They don’t want our pity-they don’t need it. 49% of WW2 veterans came home and started a business. Vets are some of the most capable people around.

My term on the museum board has ended. I don’t plan on ending my relationship with the museum. It’s a national treasure that every American should see. Make a plan to take your family there today.

I’ll post some pics later tomorrow of our flight. Right now I have to eat some bananas and drink some ginger ale.
