Setting the Schedule

For the past several years, my wife and I would spend a month out of Chicago during the winter.  I don’t think that is going to happen this year exactly.  We have been rehabbing our apartment and haven’t been in it since November 1.  It’s really starting to wear on us.  The contractor has done a decent job, but failed to execute on a couple of things that is going to push our project an extra month.

I had planned on a few trips, and now it sort of rolls into a series of trips.  If you want to meet up with me, feel free to ping me.  Here is where I will be and when I will be there.

• Jan 9-10 I will be in the Big Apple.  I am going to be on a panel at Empire Startups the evening of the 9th.  I will most likely work out of Empire’s office that day.  Happy to meet any NYC B2B Fin Tech companies.  We have one investment in NYC and would like more.
• Jan 22-23, I will be in Atlanta, GA.  I am meeting with some Fin Tech people but would be really interested to meet with any B2B Fin Tech companies or Fin Tech investors that are based there.  Atlanta has a burgeoning Fin Tech community and we are trying to get familiar with it.
• Jan 29 I will be at Plug and Play in Sunnyvale, CA at the Morningstar Wealth/Asset Tech Advisory conference.  Heading back to Chicago on the 30th right now unless plans change.

My guess is that this year will see me and my partner travel a lot more than we have in the past.  Our primary places to go outside of Chicago will be NYC, Atlanta and London.  My partner is in London right now and has been meeting people for the better part of two weeks.  We are invested in one Irish company and would be interested in doing more if the opportunity presented itself.  I think there might be a couple of trips to Toronto too.  Do the Cubs play there this year?
