Putting Out Fires

One of the things I have not been very good at in my life is putting out fires.  My tendency is to wait.  I am not a controller, so I don’t mind putting out a vision and then allowing others to step into the limelight.  However, sometimes you have to put out fires early when you see smoke because if you wait when you try to put it out the entire building will be on fire and there is nothing to salvage.

My nature has compromised my career at certain times. By being passive I hurt myself.  Other times, not meddling with certain things have turned out really really well.

The trick is knowing when you should step in, and when you shouldn’t.  Very hard to figure out the timing because every situation is different.  But, there is some pattern matching.
