Parallax launches free telehealth app to ease strain on hospitals amid the coronavirus

Parallax Health Sciences Inc (OTCMKTS:PRLX) has launched its Good Health Outcomes app, a free diagnostic and remote patient monitoring program available on Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store. 

The app provides secure, HIPAA-compliant communication with any healthcare provider and can transmit biometric data. That way, if a patient has a fever or a dry cough, a doctor can prioritize hospital admissions or even send a clinician to provide coronavirus (COVID-19) testing.

Nathaniel Bradley, Parallax’s Chief Technology Officer and the architect of the app, believes it can take some of the strain caused by the coronavirus off of hospitals.

“Our healthcare system is being stressed to its limits, on all fronts by the coronavirus, and America’s hospitals are facing one of their greatest threats to their continued operations.” Bradley said in a statement.

“The hospital system will reach a tipping point, sooner rather than later, and we all must look at ways to reduce mass admissions if we can do so. America’s hospital system cannot take the projected onslaught of people all coming into the ER in a compressed time period, without some way to prioritize admission.”

Parallax is headquartered in New York City, which has seen nearly 15,000 confirmed cases and 192 deaths from the coronavirus, according to ABC News.

“Being based here in New York City and seeing firsthand how this virus and its impact are affecting lives, I cannot stress enough the urgency of a great Telehealth solution such as the Good Health Outcomes platform,” Parallax CEO Paul Arena said.
