How Was Your Friday?

I power washed a deck.  My cousin’s husband built it back around 1993 or 94.  My uncle and I made one modification around 10 years ago.  We cut down the railing and made a bench seat.  It’s great because people can sit there.  But, you can also put your feet up.  It’s also nice because on the inside, you can look out the window at the lake and not be distracted by a railing.  Yes, I know it isn’t “code”.

We could never powerwash it because we didn’t have electricity, and we got our water from a natural spring.  Now, we have electricity, and I drilled a well last year so we have unlimited water.  It is hard to believe my grandfather built this place with simply a generator for power.

It’s a great little deck and its about 30 feet from the water.  We will seal it up and it will be as good as new.

We are getting really close to being done with the rehab of the inside.  Cabinets are done. Walls are done.  Floors are done. Fireplace is hooked up.  Plumber will finish Monday.  Today I have to put up some shelves my grandfather made and put up a backsplash today.  Once we paint the outside and build a new dock we will be done save for a new roof and windows.  Might do the loft next year.
