Cabral Gold appoints prominent Brazilian lawyer Carlos Vilhena to its Board of Directors

Cabral Gold Inc (CVE:CBR) (OTCPINK:CBGZF) Monday announced the immediate appointment of Brazilian lawyer Carlos Vilhena to its Board of Directors.

Vilhena is a partner at the Brasilia-based law firm of Pinheiro Neto Advogados, where he leads the firm’s mineral resources law and government relations practices. He has repeatedly been recognized as one of the top mining law practitioners in Brazil by a number of publications, including the International Who’s Who of Mining Lawyers published by Who’s Who Legal, the Latin Lawyer, Chambers, and Legal 500.

Cabral Gold CEO Alan Carter said in a statement: “We are extremely pleased that Carlos has agreed to join the Board of Directors of Cabral. His position as a Partner and Head of Mineral Resources Law at one of Brazil’s largest law firms provides Cabral with a breadth of relevant experience and a wide network throughout the mining industry in Brazil. In short, he is uniquely qualified to assist us as we continue to advance the world-class Cuiú Cuiú district located in the Tapajos region of Para state.”

Cabral Gold is developing its 100%-owned Cuiú Cuiú gold project located in the Tapajós Region, within the state of Pará in northern Brazil. The Tapajós Gold Province is the site of the largest gold rush in Brazil’s history, producing an estimated 30 to 50 million ounces of placer gold between 1978 and 1995. 

Cuiú Cuiú has a resource of 5.9 million tons grading 0.9 grams per tonne (g/t) of Indicated gold and 19.5 million tons grading 1.2 g/t of Inferred gold, or 200,000 ounces and 800,000 ounces of gold, respectively.

On October 20, 2020, the company said it has identified a new high-grade target called Dona Moca, located 1.6 kilometres east northeast of its Medusa target, at its Cuiú Cuiú project, with surface grab samples returning gold values of 108.3 g/t, 32.0 g/t, 21.9 g/t, and 3.9 g/t.
