Ximen Mining releases prospecting results from its ground near historic Kenville mine in BC

Ximen Mining Corp (CVE:XIM) (OTCQB:XXMMF) (FRA:1XMA) has released prospecting sample results from its properties in the famous Nelson camp and near the Kenville mine. 

A highlight was from the Ymir-Protection mine dump, which threw up 13.1 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 145 g/t silver and 0.16% copper.

This mine was operated intermittently between 1899 and 1973 and produced 10,719 ounces of gold, 82,824 ounces of silver and significant lead and zinc.

In all, 16 rock chip samples were collected, eight of which returned significant values for precious metals.

Two samples from the California mine showed 8.4 g/t gold and 3.78 g/t  gold, with 14.1 g/t silver and 11.3 g/t silver respectively.

California was mined intermittently between 1910 and 1947 and produced 2,258 ounces of gold, 3,942 ounces of silver, along with significant lead and zinc.

Elsewhere at the Venus showing, 9.04 g/t gold and 72.8 g/t silver was encountered.

Ximen said it was now applying for exploration permits for the Californian mine and other areas surrounding the Kenville mine property.

At its Kenville mine project, the company expects permitting of new underground mine development will be finalized this spring.

The company has an acquisition option on the former Kenville gold mine, which produced 65,236 ounces of gold, and 27,686 ounces of silver intermittently between 1889 and 1956.

The company has been expanding its footprint in the area via several claim groups near Kenville and last June reported that its total land package in the Nelson-Ymir-Salmo area since first acquiring Kenville in early 2019, stood at 19,582 hectares.
