GlobeX Data receives final approval from South Asian telecoms operator for Sekur distribution deal

GlobeX Data Ltd (OTCQB:SWISF) (CSE:SWIS) announced that it has received final approval from a telecommunications operator in South Asia for its Sekur email and messaging system.

The Toronto and New York-based company said it had reached an agreement with the telecom operator to distribute Sekur in the region.

GlobeX said it is reviewing the agreement to make sure it is in accordance with all items negotiated and is expected to sign the deal by the end of the week.

Following the signing, GlobeX said it expects the countersigned agreement to be received from the telecom operator “within two weeks or less.”

According to GlobeX, the telecom operator – a publicly-listed company – operates in several countries in South Asia and has a global mobile subscriber base of over 150 million subscribers. It told investors that the agreement would represent the second telecom conglomerate it would sign up in emerging markets, following its deal with Latin America’s América Móvil.

SekurMessenger eliminates many of the privacy and security risks by not requiring a phone number, which would divulge a user’s phone device ID, but also by not social engineering a user’s phone or computer contact list, which would infect the contacts by default as well.

Instead, SekurMessenger issues each user a username and an SM number, which functions as the contact ID a user would disclose in order for other SM users to be added, the company said. The service comes with a self-destruct timer, as well as GlobeX’s proprietary VirtualVaults and HeliX technologies with all data stored in Swiss-hosted encrypted servers, it added.

SekurMessenger also now comes with a proprietary feature called Chat by Invites, which allows a SekurMessenger user (SM user) invite a non-SM user or users to chat securely, without the recipient having to register or download the app. At the end of the chat, the initiator can remotely end the conversation and all traces of it are deleted from all users.
