Sativa Wellness subsidiary granted UK accreditation for testing of cannabinoids

Sativa Wellness Group Inc (LON:SWEL) said its subsidiary, PhytoVista Laboratories, was granted ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation from the UK for the testing of cannabinoids.

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is the international standard by which a laboratory’s commitment to quality and technical competence are evaluated. It was granted by United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), the government appointed national accreditation body. The process determines the technical competence and integrity of organisations such as those offering testing services.

Sativa said the accreditation will provide it with “a competitive advantage in regulated markets where organisations are required to test with an accredited laboratory” and allow it to take advantage of a growing international market and developing regulatory landscape,

Sativa added it is planning to increase the scope of testing covered by accreditation and penetrate other areas of testing whilst continuing to develop and expand cannabinoid testing capabilities.

The firm said it is in the process of extending the Phytovista testing services to its lab in Poland to service Europe, where it also intends to implement the ISO17025 standard.
