GreenBank Capital Inc hails tests showing CodiKoat technology kills up to 99% of human coronavirus on surfaces within 10 seconds

GreenBank Capital Inc (CSE:GBC) (OTCPINK:GRNBF) announced that an independent laboratory had confirmed the effectiveness of coronavirus-fighting technology developed by portfolio company CodiKoat.

ISO-standard tests at the University College London revealed that CodiKoat-treated acetate film killed 90% of the human coronavirus within two seconds and more than 99% within 10 seconds.

CodiKoat’s internal tests indicate that the technology can kill COVID-19 and all its mutations, but also all other viruses and bacteria, making it an effective tool in staving off future pandemic-level viruses.

In addition to the testing, trials of the CodiKoat product have begun at London’s landmark Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, GreenBank told shareholders.

The technology uses nanostructures to make viruses inactive within seconds of surface contact. The high-precision coating process allows it to be distributed in a controlled, uniform manner that provides strong chemistry with surface nanostructures.

According to GreenBank, any surface or product treated with the CodiKoat application “immediately becomes a Covid-destroying medium that within seconds destroys COVID-19” and any other existing and novel viruses and bacteria on contact. The effect lasts for the whole product lifetime, making it incredibly useful for mass-use products, like smartphones, and high traffic venues such as hospital environments.

“Today’s announcement has important implications in the fight against viruses and bacteria and is a game changer as it opens up an entirely new market for our antiviral coating technologies allowing it to be used on, for example the likes of fast-food self-service touch screens and leading smartphones,” CodiKoat co-founder Raj Sharma said in a statement.

“Mobile phones and touch screens have become an ever-present part of people’s personal and work lives and by using Codikoat technology, users can be instantly safeguarded from viruses and bacteria.”

Current antiviral technologies rely on antimicrobial mechanisms of silver and copper-based particles and can take hours to produce reliable antiviral effects, Sharma added.

Encouraging widespread deployment

GreenBank Capital completed the purchase of an initial 15% stake in CodiKoat in May 2021.
