Ximen Mining taps Micon International to support technical development on Kenville Gold Mine

Ximen Mining Corp (CVE:XIM) (OTCQB:XXMMF) said it has hired engineering firm Micon International Limited to develop a resource estimate for the new decline project on its Kenville Mine property.

The resource estimate will support plans for a 10,000 tonne bulk sample and will focus on areas of the property that were not included in historic mineral estimates, according to Vancouver-based Ximen.

Micon will put together an internal estimate to support planning for the bulk sample, the company said, which Ximen will then convert into a mineral resource estimate.

The company is advancing a “conceptual fast-track development schedule” for the Kenville bulk sample, it told shareholders.

Micon has also been tapped by Ximen to put together an updated mineral resource estimate to boost its efforts to develop the areas west and south of the historic mine, as well as for an initial bulk sample plan for the Kenville west area.

The Kenville Mine was British Columbia’s first hard rock gold mine and mined intermittently between 1890 and 1954, with recorded production of 65,381 ounces of gold, 27,685 ounces of silver, 23.5 tonnes of lead, 15 tonnes of zinc, 1.6 tonnes of copper and 37 kilograms of cadmium from 181,375 tonnes processed.

The project, located 8 kilometres west of Nelson, British Columbia, is accessible by paved road and is connected to the hydropower grid, with existing infrastructure including mobile underground mining equipment, offices, mechanic shop, core storage and accommodation.

Ximen noted that its permit for the new mine development is now under technical review by the Mines Review Committee.
