Brookside Energy selects Liberty Oilfield Services for Jewell Well completion operations

Brookside Energy Ltd (ASX:BRK) has appointed North America’s second-largest oilfield services company to conduct completion operations at its Jewell Well oil and gas prospect in the Anadarko Basin of Oklahoma.

Liberty Oilfield Services will supply and operate the equipment and personnel required to complete the Jewell asset ahead of its move into production.

Jewell will be the first Brookside-operated well drilled and completed within the company’s SWISH Area of Interest (AOI), a key oil and gas exploration portfolio within Oklahoma’s world-class Anadarko Basin.

Liberty’s equipment and personnel are expected on-site towards the end of this month to kick off completion activities, with production and sales to follow soon after.

Brookside’s latest appointment is a leading North American oilfield services company that brings extensive experience in ESG-conscious well completions to the table.

Liberty became the continent’s second-largest oilfields services business in December 2020 after acquiring the completions arm of fellow oilfields giant Schlumburger Ltd in a US$448 million merger.

Schlumburger is now a major Liberty shareholder and owns 37% of the oilfields business.

Ultimately, however, Brookside was attracted to the company’s ESG upside. Liberty operates the largest low-emission fleet in the market — in fact, every one of Liberty’s build fleets formed since 2013 has been low-emission.

In 2016, Liberty also debuted the Quiet Fleet, an operation with sound reduction features that make the fleet three times quieter than a traditional well completions team.

At the Jewell Well, the major oilfields services fleet will work under the supervision of Brookside’s Black Mesa Energy, LLC operations team.
