“I’m a Real Doctor, not a Medical Doctor….”

I waited all my life to say that.

As a youth growing up in small town America in the 1960s, I remember how physicians were seen as scientists. They seemed to take it as part of their work to walk patients through the reasoning that comes with scientific method. I experienced it enough myself and heard it described by others, so that when at age 13 I first met a physician socially (a heart-and-lung surgeon father of some new friends), I asked him about it. He confirmed to me that it was understood among physicians that their calling included the duty of being missionaries of science into the heartland of America, and that in medical schools in the 1940’s and 1950’s and 1960’s it had been part of the education that they brought science to society through medicine.

The surgeon had a couple sons who kayaked, as did my brothers (and, weakly, I). Occasionally we skied as families as well, an one day in their ski condo in Stratton, Vermont after skiiing, their neighbors dropped by. One man introduced himself as “Dr.” so and so. He was quizzed, and it turned out he was a professor of history in a college in Vermont. When the introductions reached the surgeon he said his name and then, “I’m a real doctor not a PhD.” I knew what he meant and it stuck in my mind. It did not seem out of place, either, to me at 10, for a physician to be somewhat imperious towards others in that way.

It would now, because the physician class has fallen so far in fulfilling that duty of speaking for science to the people. Instead of speaking for science, they have let themselves be politicized. I will avoid mentioning by name the pseudo-scientific ideologies that surround us for which physicians are either mute or complicit. But their abdication of responsibility is nowhere more profound than it is with regard to Covid. They have let themselves be bullied and pushed around into breaking the Hippocratic Oaths to their patients.

Nowhere is that more clear than with respect to HCQ and Ivermectin. These two drugs are on the WHO List of Essential Medicines. I myself have had occasion to take HCQ many times in my life, and Ivermectin, once. They are ubiqutous in the third world, and are thought of as being about as benign as aspirin

Best of all, it turns out the early treatment of Covid with HCQ and Ivermectin have a remarkable success rate of ending the progression of the disease. Success rates as high as 100% have been reported. Yet once their success became apparent, the Establishment did everything possible to demonize the drug, and governors got in on the act by writing special orders preventing any physicians from using these benign drugs. Pharmacies are regularly reported as refusing to fill prescriptions for HCQ, so intent are they that no one uses it to stop the spread of Covid.

How well does it work? Just four months ago, India was turning into a scene out of a horror movie. “India’s Failure of Leadership Collapses Health System in COVID-19 Surge“, wrote the Commonwealth Fund on April 29, 2021 (just three months and a week ago as I write). India was being written off as a basket case, a medical disaster zone (a basket case with a “collapsed health care system”), as the world wtched India’s second wave blwo up and dwarf their 2020 Covid experience:

India decided to take the step that had been counseled for over a year by dissident physician groups: provide HCQ and Ivermectin to Covid patients, as early as possible. For this decision India was vilified by the global health Establishment (“‘Fearing Covid’, Indians are popping ivermectin, HCQ, dexamethasone — all self-prescribed“).

Since then, rather than seeing India’s health care system (or India itself) collapse under the weight of Covid, the only thing that collapsed was that wave of Covid that was destabilizing India (note the red mark where India made HCQ and Ivermectin widely available):

The pandemic we are experiencing could be resolved tomorrow (and could have been resolved a year ago) if we had the clarity and courage that India has demonstrated. It does not take poisoning Americans with concentrated injections of Covid’s spike protein (i.e., the J&J vaccine); it does not take putting miniature Covid-19 spike protein factories in our arms (i.e., Pfizer and Moderna’s “vaccines”). (to later wreak havoc with ovaries and gonads). We can just use two drugs that are widely available, have many decades of safe use, and cost about 10 cents per treatment.

To this day, across the USA, the health service protocols are to tell people who present with early Covid to go home, rest, “have some chicken soup” and aspirin and let it run its course. The protocol is not to tell people about HCQ and Ivermectin. Only if a case gets bad enough is a patient to reappear at the hospital for more aggressive treatment (e.g., expensive monoclonal antibodies, or ultimately, intubation).

Those instructions, which are killing Americans, have their origin in political decisions being made in Washington, DC. Those have nothing to do with what is best for the health of Americans, and everything to do with political considerations of a regime that came to power in a rigged election.
