Tartisan Nickel posts encouraging latest assays from Kenbridge nickel project, Ontario

Tartisan Nickel Corp has posted encouraging results from its ongoing 10,000 metre (m) diamond drill at its Kenbridge nickel project in Ontario, which is designed to target the down dip and along strike extension of the Kenbridge nickel-copper deposit.

In June this year, the company reported an updated resource for the project, underscoring the potential to expand the resource at depth.

The highlight from the latest drilling was in one hole, which hit two nickel-copper zones at a depth of 663 meters (m) and 693.7m. These two zones are interpreted to be the downdip extension of the two horizons known as ‘Zone A’ and ‘Zone B’, which were intersected in two previous holes.

The latest hole hit an intercept of 25.5m at 1.13% nickel and 0.61% copper from 663m depth in Zone A, including a higher grade intercept of 4.5 meters of 2.96% nickel and 1.66% copper.

In Zone B, the hole returned 13.5m of 0.25% nickel and 0.13% copper starting from 697.5m depth.

Tartisan said another hole was targeted to test the same interpreted conductors around 200 meters down dip of the hole above. This hole has been completed with assays pending, it said.

In June this year, the firm reported that Kenbridge’s total measured and indicated resources had been updated to 7.47 million tonnes at 0.6% nickel (Ni) and 0.32% copper (Cu) for a total of 95 million pounds of contained nickel, with an additional 0.99 million tonnes at 1% Ni and 0.62% Cu for 22 million pounds contained nickel in the inferred category.

The resources were based on a Net Smelter Return (NSR) cut-off value of C$15 per tonne for pit constrained mineral resources and C$60 per tonne NSR for out-of-pit mineral resources, Tartisan had said.

Tartisan’s flagship asset is the Kenbridge Nickel Deposit, which lies in the Kenora Mining District of Ontario. It also owns the Sill Lake Silver Property in Sault St. Marie, Ontario as well as the Don Pancho Manganese-Zinc-Lead-Silver project in Peru.
