We received a Litter Genie to check out for ourselves. Being parents of small kids, we were already familiar with a similar product for diapers. This made figuring out how to use the Litter Genie super simple. 

There is a cartridge that fits inside the unit, and in essence, creates the “bags”. You do have to tie the bags off at both ends, but this is really easy to do and only takes a few seconds. 

The Litter Genie works to keep kitty litter smells at bay. You just scoop the soiled, nasty litter into the Litter Genie, and walk away. Then, once the bag is filled, tie it off, and throw away the baggie full of kitty waste. Then tie off the bottom to create another bag in the unit, and repeat. 

We have found that the Litter Genie truly does live up to its promises. While it takes some getting used to for those who may be unfamiliar with this kind of system, it’s easy to learn and equally easy to use. 

The construction is decent, although the plastic used is pretty thin. It still does a wonderful job of containing gross feline odors, which otherwise would definitely take over the house. 

Our only complaint is that the refill cartridges can get a bit pricey. Be sure to look for sales, as these can cost almost as much as the unit itself. While the dollar figure isn’t super expensive, over time, the cost of the refills can add up. 

Overall, we’re definitely impressed with just how well the Litter Genie works. With multiple cats in our home, the Litter Genie is definitely a much appreciated tool we use to combat the stench of our litter boxes!
