Samsung Gear 360 Price And Launch Date Revealed

After announcing availability of Samsung Gear 360 at SDC 2016 Conference, the South Korean Conglomerate has revealed the official pricing of the snapper via its official Korean website. According to the announcement, the 360-degree camera launched earlier this year, will hit the shelves at KRW 399,300, starting from Friday. The price approximately translates into Rs. 23,300 in Indian currency!

Samsung also mentioned that the camera will be up for grabs online as well as offline. The company touted, it will hit the shelves across 450 stores in the country by next month, and will come bundled with a Samsung Evo 64GB microSD card, as a part of the limited time deal.

Though the company has not given any word on the India pricing or availability of this camera, it is important to note that the official price falls in line with a third party e-commerce listing that surfaced few weeks back.

Samsung Gear 360 Internals:

Samsung Gear 360 is company’s first-ever 360-degree camera, which enables users to capture, view, and share 360-degree videos and still images. It sports two 15-megapixel shooters with an aperture as wide as f/2.0 and fisheye lens with wide angle lenses on both ends. The dual-lens setup normally records 360-degree videos, but there’s also a single lens mode which enables the user to capture true-to-life videos in 180-degree format.

The performance of Gear 360 is simply amazing. Its dual camera setup not only delivers video in 360-degrees, but also adds a touch of quality and detailing to them. Together, they record 4k videos at 30fps and individually, the single lens records 2k videos at 30fps. And, for photography, dual cameras can capture still images up to 30-megapixels, while standalone, the single lens captures in 5-megapixels.

Under the hood, Samsung Gear 360 has been equipped with a decent set of specs which includes 1GB RAM and an external microSD card with expansion support up to 128 gigs. It creates an ideal ecosystem for photo and video recording, and is bundled with a plethora of connectivity options such as, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi Direct. The battery capacity is 1,350 mAh, and it also holds IP53 certification for water and dust proofing.
