Worldwide Terror Threats to Israeli Embassies

Israel’s Foreign Ministries are considering the temporary closure of its embassies and warning their diplomats to stay home in the wake of several terror threats that are suspected to be coming from Hezbollah. These warnings come on the anniversary of the assassinations of Imad Mughniyah in 2008 and Abbas al-Masawi in 1992, both blamed on Israel. (Noted is the fact that Israel has denied any role in Mughniyah’s killing.)

An alert by the Israel Counter Terrorism Bureau has been issued that warns Israelis of Hezbollah’s plans to kidnap or attack Israelis who are abroad and advises the avoidance of travel to certain countries. The list includes Egypt, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia Cote d’Ivoire, Mauritania and Venezuela. It is apparent that as the civilian unrest continues to grow in the Middle East, encouraged by Western desire for democracy in the region and Islamic leaders like Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi calling for all Islamic peoples to seize the moment, the dangers for Jews, Christians and other non-Muslims is continuing to escalate. Combined with the already rising Anti-Semitism and Anti-American sentiment, Americans of all faiths will have to confront the prophesized battle now being waged for a ‘new world order.’  

A 21st century diaspora is happening today. Jews and Christians who are on the front lines of this fight are beginning to leave the countries that will not or are unable to protect them. Islamic Fundamentalists are intimidating Jewish and Christian Europeans and already the face of Europe is changing. As Iran’s President Ahmadinejad has recently said “he hopes many Jews will flock to Israel to seek safety,” and that “it will be too late.” He will wipe Israel off the face of the map and kill more Jews than Hitler did.

Americans need to recognize the fight for ‘democracy’ in the Middle East, but be vigilant as to the consequences it will bring.
