FROM THE TIMES OF ISRAEL: According to the Israel Defense Forces, more than 100 projectiles were fired at Israel in less than 40 minutes, triggering sirens in Beersheba and even as far away as the Dead Sea and the West Bank’s Hebron Hills. If rockets were indeed aimed at the Dead Sea, it would represent the longest range attack by Palestinian terrorists in Gaza since the 2014 Gaza war.
A number of incoming rockets and mortar shells from Gaza were intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system, while several others struck homes and buildings in Israeli communities near the border, causing injuries and damage. In response to the heavy barrage from the Gaza Strip, Israeli fighter jets launched a series of air raids against targets in the coastal enclave, the military said. At least two Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire in the air raids in the northern Gaza Strip and three others were wounded, the Hamas-run health ministry in the Strip said. READ MORE

Hamas’s armed wing announced the beginning of an attack against Israel, following funerals for the Hamas terrorists killed during yesterday’s firefight.
“In response to yesterday’s crime, the joint command of Palestinian factions announce the beginning of bombardment of the enemy’s settlements with scores of rockets,” Hamas’s armed wing said in a statement.
Hamas fired over 100 rockets at communities in southern Israel on Monday. Air raid sirens were hear near the Gaza border and as far as the Dead Sea.
A rocket fell in Kibbutz Mefalsim in the Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council near the Gaza border in south Israel. No injuries or damage to property were reported.

A Hamas rocket hit a gas pipe in the city of Sderot in south Israel, Israeli media reported.
Hamas fired from Gaza over 80 rockets at communities in south Israel on Monday. Iron Dome intercepted most, though a number of rockets fell on civilian areas.

Following the continuing rocket barrage from Gaza targeting southern Israel, Mayor Tomer Glam has ordered the opening of all the public shelters that are deployed in the neighborhoods throughout the city, the Ashkelon municipality said in a statement released Monday.
Operations Administration teams have been directed to make their way to the various centers in order to do so.
“As of now, there is no special instructions for the residents, but if necessary, I would like to act according to the Home Front Command’s defense instructions, which were proven to be life saving,” the municipality said.
