Diamond Explorer Pursues Airborne Magnetic Survey at Australia Project

The Canadian company is undertaking the effort to identify additional drill targets.

Lithoquest Diamonds Inc. (LDI:TSX.V; CWVWF.OTCPK) announced in a news release that a high-definition, airborne magnetic survey over a key target area of its North Kimberley diamond project will begin as soon as the geophysics team arrives on site. From the data collected in this manner, the company will identify and define drill targets for the 2019 season. The survey is expected to be finished by mid-December.

According to the company, the current primary area at the Western Australia project is where previously recovered minerals from target 1804 suggested the presence of kimberlite. The survey zone, which encompasses this area, will span about 300 square kilometers. The objective of the survey is to identify targets similar to 1804.

Surveyors will collect 7,000 line kilometers of data using north-south oriented survey lines spaced 50 meters (50m) apart. The sensor height will remain at or below 30m, and control lines will be placed every 500m. “The survey is designed to acquire low level, high-resolution data over a large area and could eliminate the need for costly follow-up ground surveys,” the release noted.
