Shame On SeaWorld For Contributing To Plastic Pollution

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Years ago, I wrote a post defending SeaWorld and the Orca controversy. Having called SeaWorld many times over that last 20 years to report stranded sea pups, seals in houses, hurt sea gulls and other hurt marine animals, I feel that do more good than bad. Rest assured, I do not like everything they do, but can tolerate it until now….

I just cannot believe they are selling that much plastic, which ends up on the beach. Before it was just the small little plastic cups with plastic lids with plastic straws that are strewn all over the beach… but NOW.. the reusable water bottles are also in plastic and then there is the plastic bucket!

If the Reusable Bottle was a SeaWorld Rescue Bottle at least (5%) of the net sale price of SeaWorld Rescue products sold to consumers in the United States (excluding Alabama, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, South Carolina, Utah and the District of Columbia) is donated to the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund. This bottle is NOT a Rescue Bottle, just a plain old plastic bottle.

Shame on SeaWorld.. there are so many options in reusable bottles that do NOT use plastic.

The middle Plastic Cups with a Plastic Straw, I believe is from SeaWorld.. apologies to SeaWorld if not. There is no label on it, but have found hundreds of these over the years and many times they are coupled with other SeaWorld junk. The label says WNC

The SeaWorld bucket is new to me. (Made in USA) What comes in it is beyond me. Why? Why? Why SeaWorld are you encouraging the use of plastics? SeaWorld as a marine park, animal rescue center, rehab center, marine research..is using Plastic. SeaWorld as a leader in ocean animals.. shouldn’t you know how deadly plastic is to marine life.

Shame, Shame Shame on you SeaWorld, I expected better stewardship and leadership.
