Corexit Being Used On The East Coast ??

We have all either seen or have read all the articles of fish kills all up the east coast { a good list here (video) } as the oil crept up the coastline as far as New York. As we saw in horror some of the death of sea life in the Gulf before The First Amendments Rights were stripped from Reporters to get close to what ever it was that the Government and BP did not want Americans to see.

Possibly the death, destruction and horror of the enhanced effect of Corexit mixed with oil on sea life and the horrible deaths that mammals -ie- Whales, Dolphins, Turtles and Birds > { I question this report } for beleiving the numbers were much higher had suffered beyond belief from the chemicals that were being used to keep the oil from beaches and wetlands that were successful only in part but have produced problems far more severe than oil on land from what the public is just starting to get a handle on and the aftermath may well be one that is unforgiving in a manner of future survival of the Gulf of Mexico and may well have an impact on all ocean life.

As others, I have paid attention to the things unfolding and anticipating WHAT NEXT as in waiting for the next shoe to drop ! Many times it seemed the ones in charge were guessing on the outcome of many of the results of their actions. At some points to me it seemed they were acting in complete desperation to concerns of many for a variety of concerns to economics rather then a scientific impute from the science community that were overall ignored. This may well have been the biggest long run mistake of the people in charge having now a multiplex ongoing problem of multi anomalies that is still cascading as a domino effect with financial repercussions further reaching than oil on beach’s and loss of tourist dollars.

As the oil made it’s way up the east coast it seemed that fish were dieing and I wondered what the EPA had said as others that the chemicals in Corexit would break down in relatively short periods of time 28 days at NOAA, EPA Senate Hearing to 5 to 7 days… heard a number of answers… But if any of these were true why were fish dieing along the coast about the same speed that oil approached the areas of fish kills when it took a few months for first kills to start on the east coast so the Corexit should have been harmless ??

With discussions with others it dawned on me that I had been seeing many advertisements of BP’s that they had their spotter planes out everyday to find the oil… also their use of satellite images… But they did not send any ships out to collect what was on the east coast that I heard about. So the plumes and slicks that have been reported on news media, what happen to them ? Oil on beaches here ….and here While children play and dig.

Reports have been many that all around the Gulf fishermen stories of seeing oil and next day was gone or seeing crews spraying waters where oil was present !

As I have reported kills of creatures here on the beaches and in the Halifax River the time line convinces me that it is most likely that Corexit was being sprayed on the East Coast as oil was being spotted moving north ! Much of this oil was a bit off shore so may have been sprayed at night with no witness’s to any planes being far enough out. But with the oil and suds in the waters and creatures dieing locally hindsight tells me it was more then quite possible.

WE all noticed that satellite imaging to the public by media became rare and no at points of the oil in the Gulf as well as the east coast… last one I saw was here nearing Cape Kennedy and it was a good size slicks… also it rounding Miami (video).

Was the lack of imaging done to keep people from seeing a pattern ??

I would like to ask anyone that has seen aircraft spraying or may have been flying very low for a normal flight.

I have seen while I have gone out to survey the area seeing at least one every few days at different times but not every day for I go out at different times and only for a few hours at a time, there are small planes or helicopters of different types flying up or down the beach line and I am sure these were not tourist flyovers. I believe that these have been spotters and work for BP.

They are fast and to get a pic of many were not possible for I was riding and not enough time to stop and grab the camera from the saddle bag, turn on to get a shot but there was a time or two I did get some shots while I was shooting at locations… below a float plane…

By Corexit sinking the oil or it mixing with water many did not see oil in it’s normal color or composition to recognize it even though they may have been in it or around it but it was evident if you looked closely at many of the creatures that had no choice but to be in it. It did save and ugly impact on the beaches in many areas but many also got oil and did not recognize it or knew and said nothing. Dead sea life coming ashore with tides on the east coast and stories  came to the media, some were far reaching to what happened to these poor creatures.

 The financial impact had been felt hard on the west coast and the east coast people on vacations were flocking to because the media and many beach resort towns were enjoying the bonus of crowds that migrated there for sun water and fun. As this was true early on as the currents flowed the oil and chemicals did to…. and if east winds blew to shores so did more. There are some beaches that were in line with currents to receive an amount of oil and it is now becoming evident that it is quite easy to find oil if it hit these beaches. A simple test is to dig into the sands on any beach and if oil had been there it still is with all the PAH risks associated with it. They are very dangerous to animals and humans and to future generations in many forms in a health perspective ! They will close factories down for emitting small amounts… but now we have beaches full of PAH’s ( Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons ) from the Gulf and the east coast as far north as ??

If Corexit degrades then why the fish kills up the east coast ? Or did they spray fresh Corexit with each sighting of oil up the east coast ?

This seems a more likely scenario for no oil has washed in past Florida that I have heard reports on, Seems everywhere tar balls were found death followed.

This would also mean that the use of Corexit has continued past the plugging of the well as it has been reported !.
