Jessica’s Biel’s Diet and Workout Plan

With one of the most in shape bodies in Hollywood right now and being engaged to Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel is certainly getting a lot of attention these days. And it should come as no surprise this Colorado-born actress is as fit as she is. As a trained gymnast and coming from a family that loved the outdoors (and would go rafting, snowboarding and hiking as a family), pushing her body to its limits is something Jessica is used to.

Hollywood has certainly recognized her physical talents as well, casting her in physically demanding roles in the movies Total Recall, Blade: Trinity and The A-Team. To stay in the top condition she is, she must train constantly, but she allows herself some freedom too. Here’s how Jessica maintains her action-movie body.

Jessica Biel’s Workout

Working out is serious business for Jessica. Her trainer, Jason Walsh, doesn’t beat around the bush: She definitely makes it look easy, he says. When she starts, Jessica, who’s a fan of circuit training, warms up by doing 5 minutes of light cardio, either by jump roping, jogging or biking. After she warms up, Jessica focuses on her butt and legs and does several reps of walking lunges. She’ll do 8 to 10 reps of lunges to get the sculpting effect in her bottom and legs.

After lunges, Jessica does what’s called high intensity interval training, which helps keep her body in constant fat-burning mode. This involves jogging for ½ mile, then following it immediately with a 200 meter sprint. After taking a one minute rest, Jessica will run another 100 meters.

After this portion of her workout , Jessica does hanging leg raises (her least favorite workout), and will repeat its 15 times. She’ll also do stair jumping (skipping every other step) to work out every muscle in her body for 20 minutes, weight training, Russian twists (sitting on a ball, to train her obliques) and she’ll do bicep curls to give herself the toned arms she‘s known for.

Jessica also stays close to her roots and still loves the great outdoors. She climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2010 and will frequently go hiking with her dogs to get additional cardio.

A smart diet plan is hugely important aspect of Jessica’s stay-in-shape regimen.  Jessica eats extremely healthy each day, and prefers to eat organic foods and is a big fan of complex carbohydrates. She’ll also eat plenty of fruits and vegetables each day (however, she does allow herself one cheat day where she will let her self eat whatever she’s craving without overdoing the calories).

In a typical day, Jessica will have three meals and she allows herself to snack two times a day. For breakfast, she’ll eat 1 cup of old meal and a handful of berries, for lunch she will eat a salad with chicken topped with vinaigrette dressing, and for dinner she’ll have fish, a plateful of vegetables, half cup of basmati rice, and dark chocolate for dessert (only of piece or two) .

When she snacks during the day, her morning snack is a slice of whole wheat toast with 1/2 tablespoon of almond butter and sliced bananas, and her second snack of the day is fruit, either a banana, an apple or strawberries. Jessica definitely keeps it healthy, but admits she has one guilty pleasure that’s hard to resist: Cheese.

Thanks to her trainer, who’s developed a workout regimen for her that hits every note, combined with a sensible diet plan, Jessica has been able to keep her body in amazing shape consistently for years.
