The individuals who are responsible for the research on this magnificent mood boosting fruit are the Polynesian herbalists. The noni fruit is also known as the Morinda citrifolia. I became very interested in the Noni Fruit for not only it’s mood boosting qualities but it’s antibacterial properties as well. All this time I have been going to my favorite local health food store called Roosters and I noticed Noni Juice but I never really thought about what it was for. I absolutly cannot wait to get a hold of this magical mood boosting juice! Noni was introduced to the Hawaiian Islands by Pacific Islanders before the arrival of European-American explorers and adventurers. Polynesians transported it to Hawaii to use the leaves, fruit, and bark as medicine. The Noni fruit was an integral part of ancient Hawaiian folk medicine.

A Pakistani-Saudi research team used water- and ethanol-based extracts of noni fruit, leaves and roots to treat laboratory rats in which dyslipidemia had been induced. They found that all three extracts significantly reduced cholesterol and triglyceride levels in animals that had had dyslipidemia induced through the administration of a high-fat diet. Results were published in a 2010 issue of “Lipids in Health and Disease.”

Noni Is An Antibacterial Fruit

A team of Indian researchers conducted in-vitro testing to determine how effective noni fruit extracts would be against three common bacteria responsible for a variety of illnesses. Using a number of agents, including chloroform, methanol, ethanol and acetone, they prepared extracts from dried noni fruit powder.
