Here’s an excellent article on the actual Physics of this concept. In reality, tea light candles are 4x more expensive than electricity to you, the user, and are terrible for air quality vs electricity generation.

For survival use? Well, ok, but read the article. The tea light candle actually only puts out the heat of a 50watt lightbulb, so for 200 watts of electric lightbulb, you are paying 4x for the heat you could just buy a heat-lamp bulb for.

Ive tried this using just a terra cota pot upside down giving enough air between the pot and the dish underneath, it definitely takes the dampness out of the air….
It wont heat a home, but they make great little space heaters on your desk if it’s sitting right next to you.
I use one I made with clay pots and use cooking-oil candles.
