Jon Stewart Attacks The American Food System For Junk Food Disguised As Health Food!

Jon Stewart really does do an amazing job of injecting humor into serious issues and is usually spot on! This time, as he takes on some of the food giants, and he nails it again. He talks about the current “making food slightly less bad for you” craze that’s sweeping the nation. I mean, come on, some of the menu items these restaurants are coming up with is ridiculous! Such as, the “wrapping of an entire pizza in bacon” deal that Little ceasar’s has put out, really?

As Jon coins in his rant, “this is a death menu of artificial chemicals, antibiotics and cool ranch carcinogens”, love it! Listen in here;

McDonald’s is moving towards chickens without “antibiotics”….why were antibiotics given to the chickens in the first place….!

Dunkin Donuts now says they are going to “eliminate the chemical used to get that bright white look” on their powered white donuts…!!

Or Olive Garden and their “buy one Entree and take home a free one”…as if you need “two” meals for dinner….! Just crazy!

Jon Stewart has done a great job at injecting humor into serious subjects, I wonder who is going to fill the void he willing be creating once he retires at the end of the current season on The Daily Show? I, for one, will miss his humor but more importantly, how accurate he has been on his rants!

The American Food System Is Junk Food Disguised As Health Food!

When McDonald’s, Coke and Kraft american cheese are considered health food, you know there’s something really wrong with this system. It has to be blown up and built from the ground up from people know know what they are talking about.  I have zero faith in the FDA, which is a joke ,where it’s all about the money nor the American food system which has the current food pyramid completely wrong.

We need to start from scrath and build a food pyramind that makes sense. One where the base of the pyramid is fruits and vetegables and lots of them, organic of course. The majority of the pyramid should consist of “whole foods”, nothing processed and made fresh. We need to start taking more time to enjoy our meals with our family and loved ones and take pride in the preparation of those meals. It’s all about convenience these days and “how quick can I get it”.

As Hippocrates said, “let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine by thy food”! This is what we need to return to and stop eating junk food disguised as health food!

I’m trying to help in that regard and guide people in the right direction and help them start making better choices. Every little change matters and the cumulative effect will make a tremendous difference in a person’s health if they are consistent.
