This is a very short message to share how upset I am watching mainstream media blame Jess Ainscough for her own death to cancer last month. I have read some seriously cold articles basically saying “Well she shunned doctors and went all natural, of course she was going to die!” and even worse, “She made the mistakes and paid the price. And her Mum did too. What do you expect?”

What upsets me most about these reports are the cold comments from ever day people posted under these articles. Yes, Jess had cancer and yes she died. But so do hundreds of Australians ever single day. And the majority of these people are under medical care, following their drug therapy regimes religiously. But no one is talking about them. No one is blaming them. And no one is blaming conventional medical treatment. And this not fair on Jess, her family and her loved ones left behind.

I am not here to advocate either an allopathic or an alternative approach to cancer treatment. What I am advocating is the individuals right to choose. There is no right or wrong. While I do not agree with Angelina Jolie chopping off both her breasts to prevent cancer, I 100% support her right to do whatever she wants with her body. And in the same way I support Jess. While I do not agree with every choice she made on her journey, I 100% support her decisions. She followed her truth, she made her own choices and I believe that everyone should be accepted and supported for that. It really brings emphasis to ‘living your truth’.

At the end of the day my opinion matters no more than the next person. What I think of Jess or Angelina or anyone elses health journey is moot. So please let us all send love and support out there instead of judgment and hatred. The world would really be a better place. I think Jess would like that.
