Try shredded, sauteed cauliflower as rice, rather than conventional brown or white rice. You can also include your favorite seasonings and spices as you would with the brown or white rice. Spices are also known to burn fat, another of my weight loss secrets.

#2 Vegetable Noodles

Creating noodles from vegetables, rather than noodles made from grains, can do done easily and quickly. The vegetable noodles are a hundred times less fattening than grain-based noodles, and much more nutritious! Use a spiral slicer to quickly turn zucchini or butternut squash into veggie noodles. You can also bake a spaghetti squash and carve out those noodles or simply use a vegetable peeler with a zucchini and make long veggie noodle strips. This one is easy, fast and delicious, what are you waiting for?

#3 Lettuce Wraps In Place of Bread

By replacing the bread you use and also buns with large pieces of romaine lettuce (not iceberg lettuce, no nutrition), you’ll immediately remove a couple hundred calories from each meal. This is one of my favorite weight loss secrets as it adds a crunch you’ll appreciate to your new sandwich!

#4 Protein Powder

Add protein powder to your recipes you already make to increase the protein and reduce the carbs? Simply replace a portion of the flour in your pancake mix with high quality protein powder and you’ll see how delicious it tastes while being so much more nutritious for you.

#5 Coconut Oil

Throw the vegetable oil (nasty stuff) in your kitchen away and replace it with coconut oil, and enjoy benefits such as a reduced appetite, increased fut burning and a source of excellent brain food as it passes through the blood brain barrier. You’ll also be avoiding the negative health effects of other, less healthy oils and fats. Add coconut oil to any recipe, both baking or stove top. This is one of the gems of my weight loss secrets. One other tip, add a tablespoon of coconut oil to your morning coffee. Adds a great flavor boost and helps ensure you get a daily dose.

#6 Wholesome Sweeteners

Time to ditch the refined sugar in your kitchen cabinet and replace it with any one of these wholesome, natural sweeteners: stevia, coconut sugar, raw honey, pure maple syrup, or date sugar. By using these real sweetners, and not that over processed table sugar garbage, you’ll be taking in fewer calories and there will be much less of an impact on your blood sugar levels, which will result in less fat stored.

#7 Water!

Replace high calorie energy drinks and soda’s with healthy, hydrating, water. Water and proper hydration is a big hot button for me as so many people are dehydrated and don’t even know it. This one, in my opion, of all my weight loss secrets, could quite possibly be the most important and change your life. If high calorie, sugar-laden beverages make up the majority of your daily calories then switching to water will quickly induce fat loss.

This also includes sugar-filled coffee drinks, you know get at Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks. You would probably faint if you knew just how many extra non-nutritional calories you were slurping down with them. If anything, switch to black coffee, or coffee with very little coconut or almond milk.
