11 Amazing Natural Home Remedies To Remove Skin Tags (Video)

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

(N.Morgan)  Unsightly skin tags can be unattractive, and affect a person’s self-esteem and confidence in a big way. Though harmless from a medical stand point, skin tags can have a major impact on how a person feels about themselves.

There is good news however, because a host of natural remedies exist which can be used to remove skin tags in the comfort of your own home. If your skin tag is located close to your eyes or other sensitive areas of your body, you should always seek help from a professional who will be able to remove it safely for you.

Before we get to the natural remedies for removing skin tags, let’s review what they are:

An article by Knowledge Weighs Nothing defines skin tags as a type of benign skin growth. In non-technical terms, they are basically soft skin growths, often found hanging from your body. Although some are barely noticeable, others can occur in sensitive areas such as on the eyelids, groin folds, armpits and under the breasts.

There’s no limit to how many skin tags might develop on your body over time. In fact, it’s possible for an individual to have up to 100 skin tags present on their skin in a lifetime. You can see how that many skin tags may make someone sensitive and cause great annoyance.

It is important to make sure it is a skin tag before you attempt any of these remedies. If in doubt, take a quick trip to the doctor for confirmation.

Best Home Remedies To Remove Skin Tags

How To Remove Skin Tags At Home?

Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree Oil is commonly used to treat and prevent a host of skin problems, including blemishes, spots and skin tags.

It’s also known as the most painless way to remove skin tags from your body.

This is because the oil contains a wealth of anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and antiviral properties that actively join forces to dry out your skin, causing your skin tag to fall off on its own. The directions below provide the steps to follow when using tea tree oil to remove skin tags.

Directions:

Start by taking a clean cotton ball and soaking it in warm or cold water.

Now, add three drops of tea tree oil directly on the moist cotton ball.

Before you apply the oil, make sure that you clean your skin tag thoroughly in order to remove any access dirt or oil (your skin tag must also be clean to achieve the most effective results!).

Now take your cotton ball and gently massage the skin tag, as well as the surrounding area, being careful not to apply too much pressure.

The results are not instant but, in time, the skin tag will fall off on its own accord. For the best results, repeat this process up to 3 times a day.

Take extra care in making sure you dilute the tea tree oil before applying it to your skin. If the tea tree oil is not diluted before use, it can cause skin irritation.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice not only tastes good and is good for you, it’s also a powerful antiseptic, making it perfect for removing skin tags from the body.

Since lemon juice also contains citric acid, it actively seeks to dry out skin tags by decomposing their cells.

Directions:

Cut a fresh lemon in half and carefully squeeze its juice on a cotton ball.

Now, apply this wet cotton ball directly to the skin tag and the small surrounding skin areas.

For best results, do not rinse the applied lemon juice off the treated area immediately after each treatment. Allow the dried juice to remain.

Integrate this treatment into your daily routine, and you should start to see results in no time at all. Remember, as with all of these home remedies, results from this treatment will not be instant, so plan to keep repeating the process up to three times a day until the treated skin tage dries up and falls/washes off.)

Dandelion

What was once considered nothing more than an annoying and pesky weed, dandelions have taken the natural remedy world by storm with all of the nutritional and healing properties this small weed plant possesses.

Dandelion stem juice is used worldwide to help with a host of skin issues including the removal of skin tags.

The steps for making this powerful natural remedy at home are very easy.

Directions:

First, you will need to get your hands dirty and pick a handful of dandelions from your back yard, ensuring that they are still attached to their stems.

This is very crucial because the stem is where you find the juice which is an integral part of the process.

Squeeze the stems together tightly, catching all of the resulting milky liquid a small, clean container.

Apply this liquid to your skin, making sure to completely cover the skin tag and surrounding skin surface.

Once you’ve followed that step, use a small bandage to cover the treated skin tag.

The dandelion stem juice works by drying out your skin tag, causing it to eventually fall off. This is a proven method that has worked on thousands of people around the world.

Caution should be used with the dandelion juice treatment because it is not suitable for everyone.

If you are allergic to marigolds, daisies, ragweed or other similar plants, you will also definitely be allergic to dandelions so plan to avoid this natural remedy option.

Oregano Oil

Applying oregano oil is another great way of removing your skin tag at home, quickly and painlessly. Using oregano oil regularly can result in the disappearance of your skin tag in as little as 4 weeks. It just requires you to apply the oregano oil to the skin tag up to three times a day.

This is because the oil contains three types of phenolic terpenoids components (thymol, arvacrol and p-cymene). All three of these components contain powerful antibacterial properties that actively work together to remove the skin tag.

Alongside these powerful components and properties, oregano oil also contains antispasmodic, antimelanomic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic properties and anti-oxidatives.

Oregano oil has come to be known as Nature’s Antibiotic and can be used when treating many other ailments as well.

Directions:

Begin the process by creating a mixture of 4 to 6 drops of coconut oil and 2 to 3 drops of oregano oil.

Next, apply this formula to your skin tag and the surrounding areas up to 3 times a day to achieve the most effective and long lasting results.

Using this treatment will eventually dry out your skin tag which will drop off your skin.

If your skin tag is located near your eyes, this is not a remedy to use as it can cause redness or skin irritation. It is also important to always dilute the oregano oil with another oil.

Garlic

Despite having a very strong pungent odor, garlic has proven itself to be great for removing skin tags (if you can tolerate the smell of course).

This happens because fresh garlic contains a whole host of anti-fungal and antibacterial properties that work together to help improve a variety of skin issues. Fresh garlic again works by drying out the skin tag, eventually causing it to drop off.

It’s very easy to use. All you need is three or four fresh garlic cloves, ground into a paste. Then simply apply the paste directly to your skin and place a band-aid over the treated area to keep the paste in place.

Fig Stem Juice

Fig stem juice is well known for it’s connection to assisting with a whole array of skin related issues, including the removal of skin tags, due to its ability to help balance the alkaline-acid ratio.

Directions:

Gather together some fresh fig stems and crush in order to extract the juice.

Apply the resulting juice to the affected skin areas up to four times a day.

The majority of people begin to notice a difference within four weeks, however your results may differ, so don’t be discouraged if you do not see the results you desire within this period of time. Just continue the treatment until the skin tag eventually dries out and falls off.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Though the intensity of its odor often make people hesitant to use it, this remedy is renowned for removing the skin tag completely. It’s also another home remedy that most of us will find lurking in the bottom of our store cupboard.

Apple cider vinegar is both highly effective and responsive to the removal of skin tags but, before you use this skin tag solution, it’s important to note that apple cider vinegar can sometimes cause very mild itching or stinging. This is nothing to worry about though, and kind of shows that it is doing its job!

It is best to dilute the vinegar with water before applying it to your skin tag – this will minimize any discomfort or stinging or irritation.

Directions:

Before using apple cider vinegar, it’s important that you thoroughly cleanse and dry your skin in the area undergoing treatment.

Next, soak a cotton ball in the vinegar and start to apply to the skin tag and the surrounding areas.

For the best results, try to squeeze the cotton ball as you massage the vinegar into your skin, allowing the skin tag to absorb the vinegar completely.

Again, with this skin tag remover solution, the results may not always be instant. Make sure that you apply the apple cider vinegar up to three times a day until the skin tag is completely gone.

Onion Juice

We all know the effect that onions have on our eyes when we are chopping them, but did you know that it is also a proven method of skin treatment, including the removal of skin tags?

Directions:

Begin by cutting an onion up into small segments and leave it in a container overnight, ensuring that the vessel also contains some salt.

Make sure that you leave it for at least 7 hours, then extract the juice from the onion when you wake up.

Now, apply the juice to the skin tag for at least a 10-12 day period.

This should remove the skin tag entirely.

Nail Polish

This is a skin tag remover that almost all of us will have in our bathroom cupboard or make-up box. Nail polish works by drying out the skin tag, resulting in the it dropping off completely.

Like the majority of home removal solutions mentioned, this is not a one time use treatment method. It’s important that you apply the nail polish up to three times a day until the skin tag fades away.

Banana Peel

This method for removing skin tags uses bananas peels. Bananas are not only super nutritious and healthy to eat, their peels are also perfect for helping to remove skin tags from all parts of the body.

Directions

Start by cutting off a small piece of banana peel.

Next, place the inside part of the banana over your skin tag, ensuring the area is completely covered.

Finally, secure the peel in place with a gauze covering and keep it on overnight. If you repeat this on a daily basis, the skin tag should naturally dry up and fall off!

Potato

Using potato as a natural solution to remove skin tags is another tried and tested treatment proven to be extremely successful. It’s super easy to do too, but is best done at night when you are not out and about.

Take one piece of potato, place it over the area with the skin tag, securing it in place with a bandage. Continue to do this for a few days, and you should start to notice a difference.

With a plethora of natural ways to remove skin tags at home, hopefully you’ll find one that works best for you.

These all take too long. Just take a pair of side clips or toenail clippers and snip the thing off. Then cauterize it with a red hot knife. There … done.

Your solution may not be the most painless one possible, but it is certainly the most manly one!

This is so crazy! I have been in the process of removing several skin tags myself this very day and I use a method that is not in the story. I use castor oil + baking soda. Put some baking soda (couple of tablespoons) in a small bowl and add a teaspoon of castor oil (more or less) mix. It should make a paste. Add more or less to make it the consistency of peanut butter (so it sticks on skin) Sand the skin tag on all sides with a little piece of 180 grit sandpaper (or emery board, I happen to have sandpaper but no emery board) to expose the surface area. Sanding is not absolutely required but it cuts the time in half.

Spread a little bit of it on the skin tag. It takes some repeat doing but the thing will soon turn black and fall off. there is some irritation around the area but it goes away just like the skin tag. It’s worked three times for me, one time with a skin tag very near my eye. I never had a skin tag until I turned 50 and some of them were getting big enough for me to give them names! Even though they were a part of me, I don’t miss them. Try this if nothing else works, (or even before you waste time with other methods because this one works for sure!)

      Here’s a tip –
Take some sewing thread and tie it fairly tightly around the base of the skin tag. You may need the help of another person depending on the location of the tag. Cut off the excess thread with small scissors. The skin tag will “strangle” and fall off after it’s blood supply has been cut off. May take a day or two. Or, you can invest in a pair of dermatology scissors and snip them off. Just be sure to keep the wound clean and covered with a band aid with some antibacterial ointment until it heals.

If “a frien of mine” has skin tags on his weiner should that pernson tie the thread around the base of the skin tag or the base of the weiner?

i’ts for a frien not me!
