  1. Getting a new mattress can reduce your stress

A few studies have shown that changing your mattress to a better mattress can actually reduce mental unrest symptoms such as stress, racing thoughts, worrying, trembling, headaches and migraines, irritability and nervousness among others. This is as a result of better sleep patterns with a new and more comfortable mattress and this trickle into your entire well-being.

  1. Many people are allergic to their mattresses

A good number of people are actually allergic to their mattresses, or more precisely, the microscopic dust mites which live there and feed on dead skin cells being shed naturally. These mites are more problematic for those that suffer allergies such as asthma. You can get rid of dust mites by washing your bedding with hot water frequently. You should also invest in an allergy-proof slip cover which keeps the mites from travelling to your sheets from the mattress. Alternatively, you can vacuum the mattress to remove them completely.

  1. Medium-firm isn’t a standard term of reference

If you’re more disturbed during your sleep, it may be time for you to get a new mattress. Of course, trouble sleeping could have psychological triggers such as trouble at work or in relationships. However, if you’re sleeping fitfully and don’t have any psychological turmoil, it may be time for you to change your mattress. Tearing, stuck-out springs and unevenness are a few other obvious signs.

One of the easiest ways to age your mattress before its time is to use your bed as your office if you’re working from home. The bed should be reserved for napping and sleeping, and work should be done from a desk, even if you’re at home. Not only does it age your mattress, it affects your psychology by slowly transforming your place of rest into a place of work. So don’t be surprised when you’re trying to sleep but instead start thinking about the work emails you need to return.
