30 million extra trees now grace the world thanks to these Web searches

What is the least amount of effort one could exert to make the world a better place? Tooling around the Web, right? In other words, almost nothing.

Seriously – unless you can feed people while watching TV, there is nothing less you can possibly do to plant trees and improve the world.

If you haven’t heard, Ecosia is the search engine that plants trees for every Web search you conduct through its search engine. The Ecosia search engine has partnered with other companies that will plant one tree per search.

We wrote about them last year and sat back and waited – turns out, they were true to their word! Thanks to people like you – the whopping number of 30 million trees has already been planted since 2016!

GNN reports:

It works similarly to any other search engine (like Google), except for the fact that since Ecosia started in 2009, their reforestation efforts have removed 1.5 million tons of CO2 from the atmosphere.

According to the organization, people make over 3.5 billion Google searches every day – and if just a fraction of those searches were made through their service, then the world would get a lot greener a lot more quickly.

The browser is easy to implement, too – all you have to do is download a web browser extension from their website (for free), and then you go about your business.
