Magnesium: What You Need To Know About This Important Micronutrient points out,

As it turns out, many of us probably are somewhat deficient in magnesium. According to research, most aren’t consuming the recommended amount of magnesium to support our body’s needs. It’s also estimated that in developed countries, between 10-30% of the population has a slight magnesium deficiency.

Magnesium is one of the many micronutirents the body requires to remain healthy. It’s essential for helping more than 300 enzymes carry out numerous chemical processes in the body, including those that produce proteins, support strong bones, control blood sugar and blood pressure and maintain healthy muscles and nerves. Magnesium also acts as an electrical conductor that helps the heart beat and contracts muscles. Considering how important magnesium is for the body, if you aren’t getting enough it can eventually lead to a range of health problems. But even though most of us are probably somewhat deficient in magnesium, that doesn’t mean you need to reach for supplements to make sure you’re getting enough….

Most people with a magnesium deficiency are undiagnosed because magnesium levels in the blood don’t accurately reflect how much magnesium is actually stored in our cells. Not to mention that signs your magnesium levels are low only become obvious by the time you have a deficiency. Symptoms include weakness, loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea and vomiting. But the symptoms you have and their severity will depend on just how low your magnesium levels are. Left unchecked, a magnesium deficiency is associated with an increased risk of certain chronic illnesses, including cardiovascular diseaseosteoporosistype 2 diabetesmigraine and Alzheimer’s disease.

While anyone can develop a magnesium deficiency, certain groups are more at risk than others – including children and adolescentsolder people and post-menopausal women.

Transdermal Magnesium vs. Supplements

7 Reasons To Get More Magnesium points out:

For better absorption, try magnesium chloride, or a form known as iMCH, which can be applied topically.  It has been called the most effective form of magnesium for cellular detoxification and tissue purification.  It comes in the form of oil.  You can spray this directly on your skin or even soak your feet in it.  The liquid magnesium bypasses the intestines and is absorbed directly into the tissues of the body.

Magnesium is needed by every cell in the body including brain cells and is one of the most important minerals because of its vital role in hundreds of enzyme systems and functions related to reactions in cell metabolism, as well as being essential for the synthesis of proteins, and for the utilization of fats and carbohydrates. Magnesium is needed not only for the production of detoxification enzymes but is also important for energy production related to detoxification. A magnesium deficiency can affect virtually every system of the body.

Dr. Mark Sircus, author of Transdermal Magnesium Therapy: A New Modality for the Maintenance of Health explains in the video: Dr. Mark Sircus, on Magnesium Supplements why transdermal magnesium is more effective than oral magnesium. He recommends only the magnesium from Ancient Minerals for its purity and shows the source of the Ancient Minerals magnesium products.

The Ancient Minerals site quotes Dr. Sircus as saying:

When I put my endorsement on the Ancient Minerals product line, it is with intimate knowledge that this magnesium source is the purest most potent medicinal in the world. I am still amazed how inexpensively they have brought Ancient Minerals bath flakes to the market. LL Magnetic Clay has made available and affordable to many an exceptionally pure form of magnesium chloride.

The Ancient Minerals Magnesium Lotion, Bath Flakes, Gel, and Magnesium Oil, are available on Amazon. The Gel leaves a crust and the Oil can sting. The Bath Flakes are good for a foot bath, but can be expensive for baths. The Lotion is very soothing. I apply the Lotion to the soles of my feet after I bathe to reach all organs (according to reflexology). I also apply the lotion all around my mouth because it reduces plaque buildup on my teeth and reduces pain and bleeding during dental cleaning. I keep the Lotion by my bedside to apply to my calves if I wake up with a “Charley Horse”.

Benefits of Transdermal Magnesium

Amid Fears Of Contamination, Japan Will Soon Dump Treated Water From Fukushima Nuclear Plant Into The Pacific. Evidence Is Mounting that Fukushima Is a Progressive Extinction Level Event and Deconstructing the Worldwide Media Blackout on the Ongoing Fukushima Nuclear Disaster: California Wine is Just the Tip of This Radioactive Iceberg show the high levels of radiation to which all Americans are exposed because of Fukushima. After all, California is our breadbasket!

The article American Cancer Society Chief Officer Calls Cell Phone Radiation Study a “Game Changer” points out the dangers of radiation from cell phones, towers, and smart meters. Protection against radiation is even more important as 5G technology is rolled out and Wi-Fi is increasingly widespread.

Dr. Sircus’ article Magnesium Offers Strong Radiation Protection provides an easy solution. Magnesium also helps detox mercury. Many people have high levels of mercury from dental fillings, eating fish, living near coal-fired industries, etc. Mercury toxicity can fuel many chronic illnesses.

The Ancient Minerals site lists some of the benefits of transdermal magnesium products which deliver magnesium through the skin for rapid absorption into the cells. Magnesium is a cellular protectant, facilitates detoxification, relieves aches, pains and spasms, elevates mood, relieves stress, encourages healthy skin, helps maintain muscle function, boosts energy levels, supports a healthy immune system, balances the hormonal system, calms overactive nerves, improves quality of sleep, and much more.

The documentary Fluoride: Poison on Tap explains that the fluoride added to the water supply in most American cities and in many types of toothpaste since the early 20th century is a toxin. As an irritant to the thyroid, fluoride is fueling the hypothyroid epidemic. Fluoride can also cause cancer and arthritis – leading to many knee and hip replacements. Fluoride damages the brain and causes memory problems. Fluoride damages the immune system, contributing to autoimmune diseases. Many pesticides sprayed on non-organic foods contain fluoride.

The documentary explains that the antidote to fluoride is Magnesium, Iodine, Calcium, Vitamin C, and Selenium.  Dr. Edward Group created Survival Shield X-2 Nascent Iodine.

Dr. Sircus is the author of Healing With Iodine: Your Missing Link To Better Health and co-author of Iodine – Bringing Back the Universal Medicine. Dr. Sircus recommends LL’s Magnetic Clay Nascent Iodine.

Video: No Magnesium Test Needed

Why You Need Transdermal Magnesium! explains that in the video Magnesium Deficiency – No Test Required, Dr. Sircus shows why no test is needed.

Dr. Sircus cites the article by Dr. Sidney Baker who provides a full outline of magnesium deficiency.

Magnesium deficiency can affect virtually every organ system of the body. With regard to skeletal muscle, one may experience twitches, cramps, muscle tension, muscle soreness, including back aches, neck pain, tension headaches and jaw joint (or TMJ) dysfunction. Also, one may experience chest tightness or a peculiar sensation that he can’t take a deep breath. Sometimes a person may sigh a lot.

Symptoms involving impaired contraction of smooth muscles include constipation; urinary spasms; menstrual cramps; difficulty swallowing or a lump in the throat-especially provoked by eating sugar; photophobia, especially difficulty adjusting to oncoming bright headlights in the absence of eye disease; and loud noise sensitivity from stapedius muscle tension in the ear.

The central nervous system is markedly affected by magnesium deficiency. Symptoms include insomnia, anxiety, hyperactivity and restlessness with constant movement, panic attacks, agoraphobia, and premenstrual irritability. Magnesium deficiency symptoms involving the peripheral nervous system include numbness, tingling, and other abnormal sensations, such as zips, zaps and vibratory sensations.”

Symptoms or signs of the cardiovascular system include palpitations, heart arrhythmias, and angina due to spasms of the coronary arteries, high blood pressure and mitral valve prolapse. Be aware that not all of the symptoms need to be present to presume magnesium deficiency; but, many of them often occur together. For example, people with mitral valve prolapse frequently have palpitations, anxiety, panic attacks and premenstrual symptoms. People with magnesium deficiency often seem to be ‘uptight.’ Other general symptoms include a salt craving, both carbohydrate craving and carbohydrate intolerance, especially of chocolate, and breast tenderness.

Magnesium: The Ultimate Heart Medicine

Magnesium – The Ultimate Heart Medicine, an ebook by Dr. Mark Sircus, is described as a paradigm breaker in the field of cardiology.

Dr. Sircus lists many of the benefits of transdermal magnesium, including:

Maintaining heart beats and preventing heart attacks: Magnesium is absolutely essential for the proper functioning of the heart, is beneficial for many types of arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, ventricular premature contractions, ventricular tachycardia, and severe ventricular arrhythmias. Magnesium supplementation is also helpful in angina due to either a spasm of the coronary artery or atherosclerosis.

Controls blood pressure: Magnesium is a natural calcium antagonist and modulates vascular tone, blood pressure and peripheral blood flow. Thus, it helps maintain balanced blood pressure, preventing and fighting hypertension. improved blood circulation and oxygenation as well as providing for overall general relaxation.

Ally of diabetics: Reversing insulin resistance is the most basic first step to reversing diabetes and heart disease. Low serum and intracellular magnesium concentrations are associated with insulin resistance, impaired glucose tolerance, and decreased insulin secretion.

Improve pulmonary function: Nebulization of magnesium is a primary treatment for patients with pulmonary infections, for those undergoing bronchoscopy, for asthmatics and any other lung disease.

Important for bones: Magnesium acts on the regulation of calcium in and out, controlling the calcium metabolism to maintain blood homeostasis and the adequacy of bone matrix formation. It also participates in the activation of vitamin D, important for the absorption of calcium by the bones. important in the maintenance of healthy muscles, Helps with arthritis, increased mobility, Helps with frequent muscle cramping/spasms in the legs. Helps with pain.

Relieves symptoms of menopause: Magnesium deficiency is associated with menopause symptoms. This is because magnesium deficiency alters the activation of vitamin D associated with the interaction and modulation of hormones such as estrogen, which can alter and lead to menopause symptoms.

Magnesium Is Anti-Inflammatory

The Alzheimer’s and Dementia Summit interviewed 31 brain specialists. It was followed by a 9-day Autoimmune Secrets series that included 50 doctors, scientists, researchers and autoimmune survivors.

Autoimmune Secrets explained that there are over 200 chronic illnesses characterized as autoimmune conditions including Alzheimer’s, dementia, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, MS, cancer, Crohn’s, Type 2 diabetes, etc. These labels are signs of the autoimmune system malfunctioning and manifesting various symptoms which get labeled as “diseases”.

The consensus in both shows was that inflammation is the root of all autoimmune conditions – and inflammation is caused primarily by nutrient deficiency and various kinds of toxins.

Dr. Sircus quotes Dr. David Perlmutter, author of The Grain Brain Whole Life Plan: Boost Brain Performance, Lose Weight, and Achieve Optimal Health and Brain Maker: The Power of Gut Microbes to Heal and Protect Your Brain for Life:

Once we understand the critical importance of inflammation and glutathione depletion in brain diseases, we can take steps to prevent or even reverse the damage.

Dr. Sircus explains in his ebook Magnesium – The Ultimate Heart Medicine:

Magnesium deficiency causes and underpins chronic inflammatory build ups. This concept is intriguing because it suggests a fundamentally simpler way of warding off disease. Instead of different treatments for heart disease, Alzheimer’s, and colon cancer, we apply a single, inflammation-reducing remedy that would prevent or treat these and other deadly diseases.

The key words here are ‘prevent’ or ‘treat’ but please notice the word is not cure. Though magnesium is a cure for many of our ailments, full treatment protocols are recommended with magnesium chloride as the top protocol item. It is a protocol of basic items like magnesium, iodine, Alpha Lipoic Acid, sodium bicarbonate, sodium thiosulfate, whole food vitamin C, natural vitamin D from the sun, spirulina and some other important items like purified water that will make a difference in a host of chronic diseases.

Dangers of Magnesium Deficiency

In the video Magnesium: The most powerful relaxation mineral available, Dr. Mark Hyman warns that people deficient in magnesium are twice as likely to die! Yet, half of Americans are deficient in this nutrient – and don’t know it! He recommends supplementing with oral magnesium, but Dr. Sircus explains in his book and videos why transdermal magnesium is more effective.

In the video Signs and Symptoms of Magnesium Deficiency, Dr. Peter Osborne, a doctor of chiropractic and a Board Certified doctor of clinical nutrition, describes the three main areas of the American life style that contribute to magnesium deficiencies:

  1. Chronic low-grade stress
  2. Diuretics like caffeine, alcohol, and blood-pressure medications
  3. A diet high in refined carbohydrates (breads, pastas, cereals, cakes, crackers, cookies, and other baked goods)

Some of the consequences of magnesium deficiency are depression, high blood pressure, increased blood thickness which can cause strokes and heart attacks, bone loss, muscles spasms, and elevated cholesterol. Dr. Osborne explains that dietary magnesium deficiency is often compounded by drugs to treat the symptoms of magnesium deficiency but exacerbate it — creating a vicious cycle. The answer is simply to treat the dietary magnesium deficiency instead. Dr. Osborne recommends a cell test, but Dr. Sircus explains why no test is needed.
