Armed men on motorcycles shot Paulina Arreola Pérez last night, one of the young women who are part of the group of women known as The Brides of La Union. She was a sentimental partner of El Alexis, leader of the group executed three months ago in Jalisco.

Paulina and a companion were shot at least 10 times when they were in the streets of the Benito Juárez neighborhood. Initial reports from authorities detailed last night that the 26-year-old woman was in serious condition and unlikely to survive; her companion died in the clinic to which she was transferred.

Paulina Arreola used to go out to bars and nightclubs with Valeria Diaz, executed in May of last year in the Tepito area, and with Nalliby Mustafa aka La Morelos, shot to death in March.

She showed off photographs online of having traveled through different parts of the world. The same in Dubai, Turkey, and Canada.

Information obtained by C4Noticias reveals that some of those trips were paid for by members of La Union who used cloned credit cards for it.

Alexis Martínez, one of the leaders of La Unión, was one of her boyfriends. When he was murdered in Jalisco, she posted different messages on her social networks where she wrote “Someday we will meet again.”

THE CRIME

According to reports from the authorities, it was around 9:30 p.m. that Paulina Arreola and a man identified as Eduar Arturo Trejo, 21, arrived at La Coruña and Fernando streets, in the Alamos neighborhood.

She was driving a Honda vehicle. It was there she was hoping to meet someone to whom she was going to give some shoes offered online.

Whoever contracted Paulina, actually tricked the broad in order to kill her. When she came to deliver those shoes, she was shot at along with her companion.

The report from the authorities details that she was shot at least 9 times, while her male companion was shot twice. Paramedics and police arrived at the place.

Although both were taken away with vital signs, both were unlikely to survive.

The men on the motorcycle left the area. They fled towards Central Avenue, in the direction of the State of Mexico. This was the same route taken by the men who murdered Valeria Díaz months ago.

Despite the relevance of the case, the Homicide Prosecutor’s Office didn’t want to open an investigation. 

The reason, they explained, is that the victims didn’t die at the scene of the aggression but in a hospital.
